Chess Creek Kennel and Pet Resort Dog boarding kennel Chess Creek Kennel and Pet Resort is a family owned and operated boarding kennel. The dogs were then adopted by families in the community.

Stephen and Nikki Amos have owned dogs all of their lives and live on a small farm in Lunenburg County. Nikki facilitated and supervised the Save Our Shelters Pen Pals program at Lunenburg and Brunswick Correctional Centers for 5 years. This program rescued shelter dogs which were trained by correctional inmates in basic obedience. The Pen Pals program is now operated by Fetch a Cure and is called Pixie’s Pen Pals http://fetchacure.com/about-us/pixies-pen-pals/. The love and care of animals has fostered our vision to develop a quality boarding kennel in Lunenburg County. Chess Creek currently has 9 indoor kennels that are 5’ wide and 8’ long. Each kennel has a Kuranda bed so that your dog has a comfortable sleeping space. You can rest assured that your dog is not just left in a kennel until you return. Your dog will be handled three to five times a day and let out for supervised play time in the outdoor play yards. Each dog receives a bedtime treat and plenty of love and attention from the Amos family. Chess Creek also plays the Music My Pet CD (http://musicmypet.com/) after every play time and before bedtime each night. The Music My Pet Classic Cuts CD has been shown to calm pets in stressful situations, such as new surroundings. Chess Creek is committed to offering your dog the best boarding experience! So, whether you need to board your dog for a day or for weeks, you can be rest assured that your dog will receive the best of care with us.

My 10 year old dog had never stayed at a kennel. I was concerned how he’d do. Nicky and Steve were kind enough to let me know twice during the week how he & the other family dog that was with him were doing. The kennel was very clean. Definitely will use again and I’ve already recommended Chess Creek to our neighbor

We are still trying to find this dog his forever home! We’ve been fostering him for a few weeks now ❤️ He’s a neutered 9 month old shepherd mix. He is crate trained but also does well inside a fenced yard.

He loves a good bone to chew on!

He’s up to date on shots and been dewormed.

Can’t say we recommend him around cats as he doesn’t seem fond of the barn cats. But he hasn’t hurt any of them.

If you’re open to adopting him, please reach out!
