A lot of people look at a rehab facility as a “fix it all” kind of place. That is what we love to do, but at the same time, it takes a great vet, a great farrier, and a few others who stand in your corner. When this horse was sent to me, my exact text to his owner was “this may be one of my most challenging cases, but just know that I’m going to give it my all”, and from day one, that’s what we’ve done. “Bucket” was with a clinic that did not provide the best care for him. But luckily his owner didn’t allow that to be the end of his story.

We’ve had this sweet baby for almost 3 weeks now, and the progress he has made is unbelievable. There’s so many stories to tell, and we can talk about them on the next post, but this one is focused mainly on his foot. Today, thanks to Virgil Conde, we placed a hospital plate on Bucket’s back foot. Bucket was struggling with weight-bearing founder, which caused his coffin bone to protrude through the bottom of his foot. Not the most ideal thing you want to see on the first day, but not the worst.

We’ve been doctoring it and making progress, but knew that a hospital plate would be the best call for faster results. And well, fast results is what we received! I’m over the moon with Bucket’s progress, and every day, we’re going to keep pushing to get him back home to his family, happy and healthy!

A big thank you to Dr.Ben Espy & Dr.Shana Bohac for always being a phone call away, and to Virgil Conde for coming out and providing the utmost care, and game plan going forward.

We will be making a trip to Stockdale with a load of hay and can fit a few more bundles or 3x4x8 bales on the trailer! Give us a call or send us a message. We’d be happy to deliver them to you

Sweet "Bucket" 🩵

This sweet boy has a long road ahead of him and could use all the prayers and positive thoughts you can send his way. Thankfully, things are looking up, and we can't wait to share the progress he's making.
Life dealt Bucket a tough hand, but he's in the right place now, surrounded by people who are giving him the second chance he deserves.
If you've been by the barn this past week, chances are he's already greeted you. And if you're stopping by soon, be sure to say hello and give him a little extra love. He deserves every bit of it.
Here's to healing, hope, and brighter days ahead, Bucket!
