The Texas Zoo is proud to be part of important conservation conversations happening across Texas.

Recently, our Animal Curator, Leanne Bloomfield, and Education Manager, Nessy Villarreal, attended the SAFE Ocelot Educators Workshop in Houston.
The workshop brought together educators, conservation professionals, and partner organizations from across the state to collaborate on developing educational resources that support ocelot conservation and inspire future wildlife stewards.

We're grateful for the opportunity to learn from fellow conservationists, build new partnerships, and bring valuable knowledge back to our community.
A special thank you to the Safe Ocelot Program, Houston Zoo, and East Foundation for hosting such an impactful event!

Together, we can help protect one of Texas' most endangered wild cats. 🐾

Looking for a fun and educational way to spend part of your summer? Join us at the Texas Zoo's 2026 Summer Zoo Camp! Campers ages 5 - 13 will enjoy animal encounters, hands-on activities, games, crafts, and behind-the-scenes zoo adventures.

Week 1: July 13-17 Learn about mammals, reptiles and birds!
Week 2: July 20-24 Learn about what animals eat, even get to feed them!
Week 3: July 27-31 Be a zookeeper for a week!
