I managed to escape my life this week…only to go find more horses!
Kentucky is a gorgeous state and I managed to cross off a bucket list item; Churchill Downs! We continued the fun at the Kentucky Horse Park and saw many incredible pieces of racing memorabilia.

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows in the horse breeding business
It’s that time of year where, for whatever reason, colic is more prevalent. We’ve had some temperature swings lately that may have contributed to the recent bout.

Luckily my dear bf caught it quickly and even administered his first Banamine dose. It was our beautiful gaited mare, Love. She has a two month filly on her so it was especially scary.

I made the decision to take her into the emergency vet. It was a mild case of impaction colic. It’s always scary, but we got good news this morning and things are moving along. Literally. They got to come home from the hospital today.

I am always grateful for the veterinarians that go above and beyond to keep our animals healthy. It is such a tough job and I am so glad to have talented vets locally. I’m always beyond ecstatic for happy endings in the horse business!
