Oh Addie girl. How I love you. My very special girl. Celebrating your 4xGMPR with some chair snuggles and selfies. This little gal may give me anxiety at times but she also makes me look really good more often than not! What she lacks in size she makes up for with heart and drive.

Back home from a long, but great extended weekend trip to Pardeeville. It was great having Ryan Pasman from In Flight Retrievers here for the past 10 days training like crazy. Also had our friends Dale runngunlabs and tylerswiderski_ from huntersrosekennels here training Wednesday-Friday. Congrats to Dale with Preacher and Drax for finishing 4th and 5th, respectively. Ryan and Ty had a good weekend with me at the APLA test in Pardeeville. The dogs ran great despite the heat and humidity on Saturday. Weather was nicer Sunday.

None of these things would be possible without the support of family and friends and my awesome team here st Cooperstown Kennels. Big thanks to my wife brevandehey and my daughters, and also my awesome kennel staff sawyermalsin10 and Damanick for holding down the fort and working the young dogs while I was gone. Super proud of our spring hunt test crew. Dogs are really rounding into shape and I truly believe we have some “big dogs” capable of big things here right now. Congratulations to our dogs and owners:

A few pics from training the last few days. Ryan from In Flight Retrievers has been staying with us since last Thursday. Then Dale and Ty from huntersrosekennels joined us on Wednesday and today. We have been grinding running over 60+ dogs per day through retriever work and upland. runngunlabs is off to run dogs in SRS tomorrow and ryanpasman, tylerswiderski_ and I will be running an APLA test this weekend. Long days but great company and so far great weather and lots of dog work.

Had a great time at the River Valley HRC test this past weekend. We ran 9 dogs both days and overall passed 17/18 including 9/10 in finished and 8/8 in started. Huge thanks to the River Valley and Key City HRC clubs for hosting, the judges, helpers and everyone else. Appreciate it. Congrats to all our dogs and their owners and thanks for trusting us with your dog.

Big dog water work today. Two down the shore and a long blind past both marks. On the far point in the second photo there are ducks on the shore/end of the point. We practiced swinging and shooting but no mark was thrown. Then we worked to line up and send the dog to the pile of ducks to simulate them not seeing a mark but trusting me to line up and send them. It’s a process!
