2026 has allowed us here at KEVDS to FINALLY begin to roll out our very own product line after years of research and lots of trial and error. We are so excited to finally introduce the horse owner's very own equine dental care kit! This kit will include:

🦷 An oversized toothbrush designed specifically to reach the back of the horse's mouth. Options include soft or hard bristles and a choice of either blue or red.
🦷 Two flavors of toothpaste to choose from - molasses or peppermint
🦷 Peppermint flavored floss

*Coming soon, we will have a specialty toothpaste designed specifically for horses with periodontal disease and/or sensitive gums*

Dr. Rainbow and Dr. Thornbury have spent the last few weeks teaching clients how to safely and effectively brush their horses' teeth. Their studies have shown that daily brushing decreases the chances of periodontal disease, infundibular and peripheral carries, and tartar buildup.

Of course, brushing should never take place of having your yearly or biannual oral exam done, but it is the best way to keep your horse's teeth healthy in the time in between appointments!

As we slowly thaw out here in Kentucky (🤞!), here's a wee snippet of Dr Thornbury performing an external exam as part of a routine oral exam. This guy is a four year old American Saddlebred gelding who had just been sedated.
