Summer is officially kicking off, which means more road trips, more outdoor adventures, and more time spent making memories with our pets.

Before you head into full summer mode, here’s one final pet safety check-in:

FINAL SUMMER PREP CHECKLIST:
☑ Current on flea, tick & heartworm prevention
☑ ID tags and microchip information updated
☑ Recent photos of your pets saved on your phone
☑ Vet records accessible if traveling
☑ Emergency veterinary numbers saved
☑ A plan for keeping pets cool in the heat
☑ Plenty of fresh, cool water available at all times

Save this checklist, share it with pet sitters, and keep it handy all summer long. 💙

Spring allergies were one thing… but now we need to talk about ticks. 🕷️🐾

Tick season doesn’t wait for summer.
We’re already seeing them NOW — and if your pet isn’t protected yet, it’s time to start thinking about prevention.

Why are ticks such a big concern?

Ticks can carry diseases like:
→ Lyme disease
→ Ehrlichiosis
→ Anaplasmosis
→ Rocky Mountain spotted fever
→ Babesiosis

These illnesses can cause symptoms ranging from fever and lethargy to joint pain and more serious complications if left untreated.

The good news? Prevention is much easier than treatment. 💙

Here’s what we recommend:
✔ Check your pet daily after outdoor adventures
✔ Keep pets on veterinary-recommended flea & tick prevention
✔ Be cautious in wooded areas, tall grass, and brush
✔ Ask your veterinarian if a Lyme vaccine is appropriate for your pet

A little prevention now can make a huge difference later.

🍪🐾 It may be National Biscuit Day for people and cookies…but around here we’re making it pet themed! 🐾🍪

And if your pet is tagging along for the adventure, here’s what you should do BEFORE you hit the road.

A prepared pet = a much smoother trip for everyone. ☀️

Before traveling, we recommend:
✔ A wellness check (especially if your pet hasn’t been seen recently)
✔ Updated ID tags & microchip information
✔ Current flea, tick & heartworm prevention
✔ Medication refills (including anxiety meds, thyroid meds, etc.)
✔ A health certificate if flying or crossing state lines

A little preparation now can help prevent a lot of stress later.
