Everyone meet Layla!

A 13 year old female spayed Teddy Bear who acts like she is 3.

Layla is looking for a forever home. Her previous owner who had her, her entire life passed away. Layla is looking for someone to be her new snuggle buddy. Layla loves to walk, car rides, follow you around the house and doing the zoomies. She is potty trained and will wait at the door to let you know she needs to go out. She is great with kids and other dogs. She has never lived in a house with cats so we are unsure how she would behave.

Layla has some evidence of arthritis, but this doesn’t slow her down and we have started her on a daily pain medication. She has a history of ear infections and does have a heart murmur which is not currently causing her any issues and is not currently requiring medication. We have Layla scheduled for a dental cleaning so we can take care of her teeth. She is up to date on vaccines.

She is ready for her forever home at any time. If you would like to meet Layla or are interested in being her forever home please let us know.

Fun Fact Friday: Did you know that most feline house-soiling is due to litterbox stress?

Cats prefer at least 1 litterbox per cat in the household plus 1 extra. They do like them to be in different spots and to be at least 2 times as long as their body and 1.5x as wide. This can be achieved with an under-the-bed storage box made for storing clothing. Many cats do not like really deep litter so you can try only putting about an inch in this larger box.

Wilbur was so kind to demostrate the difference in a traditional litterbox vs an under the bed sweater tote. The traditional box does not have enough space for him to correctly posture, while the large tote and gave him ample space to move and pick the perfect spot.

If you have a cat that likes to urinate on their tippy toes, you can can also get a large storage tote, and cut an entrance into the side.
