πΎππΎ WELCOME TO ELITE FLORIDA CANINE COLLEGE β LAUREN SILVERSTEIN! πΎππΎ
This one means a lot to me.
Lauren came to me in the summer of 2025, looking to expand her training knowledge, gain exposure to different methods, environments, dogs and handlers, and stretch beyond what she already knew.
But here's something important... Lauren was evaluating ME just as much as I was evaluating HER!
Lauren had worked with other trainers whose methods and philosophies didn't align with her own core values.
She believes in shaping, guiding and influencing the dog in front of her. Seeing the individual, understanding what makes them tick, building confidence and developing skills through clear communication and genuine connection.
Not breaking their spirit. Not being unnecessarily heavy-handed. Not forcing a dog into a mold simply because that's how someone believes training should look.
She wanted to learn, but she wasn't willing to compromise who she was or what she believed in to do it.
And apparently, I checked a few boxes myself! π€£
That's what makes this relationship so meaningful to me. There was mutual respect from the beginning. Neither of us needed to change who we were. We found common ground in how we see dogs, how we approach training and what we believe we owe the animals entrusted to us.
Lauren is extremely talented. She has a tremendous passion for the dogs AND the people on the other end of the leash. But what impressed me most was her willingness to step outside her comfort zone, challenge herself, learn, grow and figure out where she wanted to take her career.
We spent a lot of time together doing just that.
Out of that experience, Lauren went on to establish her own business, Pack Culture Dog Training, LLC . And I couldn't have been more proud!
Now, as she looks to expand her opportunities and work full-time in this industry while continuing to build something of her own, she's joining us at Elite Florida Canine College!
And here's the thing...
If we aren't sharing our knowledge, creating opportunities, elevating those around us and helping others become successful in their own right, WHAT THE HELL ARE WE DOING?
I didn't ask Lauren to come aboard because I need another person holding a leash.
I asked her because of WHO SHE IS, HOW SHE THINKS, HOW SHE SEES THE DOG IN FRONT OF HER, AND WHAT SHE BRINGS TO BOTH ENDS OF THAT LEASH.
I asked Lauren to give me a little background about herself to share with all of you.
This is what she sent me:
"I've been working with dogs for over 10 years, with a background in both dog training and veterinary medicine. I spent six years working as a veterinary technician, which gave me a deeper understanding of canine health, behavior, and the importance of the human-animal bond.
I'm an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator.
My biggest passion has always been helping people build stronger, healthier relationships with their dogs through clear communication, mutual understanding, and trust.
I believe training is about so much more than teaching commands. It's about helping owners truly understand the animals they share their lives with and giving both ends of the leash the tools to succeed together.
Nothing is more rewarding to me than watching that relationship grow and helping dogs become happy, confident, well-adjusted members of their families.
At the end of the day, my goal is to help people enjoy life with their dogs and keep those dogs in loving homes for life."
NOW TELL ME... IF THAT ISN'T ELITE FLORIDA CANINE COLLEGE TO ITS VERY CORE, WHAT IS?!
I couldn't have written that better myself.
Lauren understands something fundamental to everything we do here.
Training isn't just obedience. It's communication, leadership, trust, respect, understanding and building a relationship that lasts a lifetime.
And THAT is why she's coming aboard.
For however long, or however little, our paths run together in this capacity, she has my support. I want her to continue building her own business, finding her own way and creating the future SHE wants.
We aren't building an empire of people who think exactly alike.
We're building a community of capable, passionate, independent professionals who share a philosophy and aren't afraid to learn from one another.
Lauren, I am incredibly proud of you.
Take the step. See where it goes. Keep growing, keep challenging yourself and NEVER lose sight of why you started.
Welcome aboard, Lauren!
Let's see what we can accomplish together! πΎππΎ
