🐾 WHY IS MY DOG SHEDDING SO MUCH THIS SUMMER?! ☀️🐶

If it feels like you could make a whole second dog out of the hair you’re finding around the house… you’re definitely not alone! 😂

We’ve been seeing A LOT of shedding this summer, and there are a few reasons your pup may seem extra fluffy lately:

☀️ Seasonal coat changes — Dogs shed their heavier coat to help regulate their body temperature during warmer weather.

🌡️ Temperature changes — Going back and forth between the summer heat and air conditioning can sometimes make shedding patterns feel less predictable.

🐕 Double-coated breeds shed BIG! — Labs, Shepherds, Huskies, Aussies, Goldens and other double-coated breeds can release huge amounts of undercoat.

🛁 Regular grooming makes a difference! — A professional bath, blowout and thorough deshed can help remove all that loose undercoat BEFORE it ends up on your floors, furniture and clothes.

And remember: shaving a double-coated dog usually isn’t the answer! Their coat plays an important role in protecting their skin and helping regulate temperature.

So if your house currently looks like it’s covered in dog-hair tumbleweeds… welcome to summer shedding season! 😂🐾
