We urge all of our local families to keep an eye out! We have had the pleasure of meeting CT Dog Gone Recovery this afternoon and set up a trail camera/feeding station on site.
Let’s bring him home!!❤️🐶
🎉🎉🎉 Ranger has been safely trapped ❤️
After a horrific 18 days, Ranger has finally been trapped. This adventurous guy certainly covered some miles. For the first 10 days after going missing, Ranger never showed his face. And just as quickly as he would appear, he would disappear again for days at a time. Feeding stations were established, traps were set, and poster after poster went up throughout the area as sightings slowly started to come in.
Yesterday evening, Ranger showed up at Whispering Brook Farms and decided he wanted to pay a visit to their horses. With that important information, a trap was set this morning nearby. Shortly after, the owner received a call that Ranger was sunbathing in a backyard directly across from the farm. CTDGRV Melissa instructed the owner to quietly grab a trap and place it at the front of the house without making any contact with Ranger. He did exactly that — and within two minutes, Ranger was safely inside the trap.
This was truly a group effort.
A special thank you to Lazy Dog Grooming for allowing us to use your property and establish a feeding station after the very first sighting. Thank you to Whispering Brook Farms for allowing us to set a trap on your property and for ultimately providing one of the most important leads in this case. And a huge thank you to the homeowner on Cedar Swamp Road who immediately called and said, “Ranger is in my backyard — do whatever you have to do to catch him.” That quick action allowed us to safely place the trap in the driveway and bring Ranger to safety.
Thank you to the community for continuing to call in sightings and never giving up on this boy.
Thank you to CTDGRV Melissa and Jill, who drove a long distance and even slept in their car to help bring Ranger home safely. Thank you as well to CTDGRV Jen, Holly, Mark, and Sharon for helping with feeding stations and trap setups throughout this long and emotional recovery. Thank you to CTDGRV Erica and Sean for coming out and flying the drone multiple times.
Ranger’s family never gave up on him for a single moment. Day and night, they followed every lead, answered every call, and were willing to do whatever it took to bring their boy home safely. Their dedication, patience, and determination played a huge role in Ranger finally making it home.
Ranger will be heading to the vet for evaluation, and we are hopeful for a full recovery.
Welcome home, Ranger ❤️ 🚨
🚨We are kindly asking Everyone to stay out of the woods and to stop driving the area. This pup needs to be trapped he will not go to anyone. If he feels like he is hunted he will push forward he has already moved multiple times. Following him and looking for him is only putting him in harms way. We have multiple traps out and are trying to get him to settle.🚨🚨
Male mix breed last seen 4/28 around 9pm in the Rainbow Trail and Valley Falls area. He is wearing an orange reflective collar. Pls do NOT call out or chase. If seen, pls call the number on the flyer immediately with details on when and where you saw him.
