Dallas day 1: my canine roomies are amazing and adorable. My people roomies are super nice and welcoming to a stranger.
Today was Poodle profile refresher, skin cell and hair follicle anatomy and pathways to Master Groomer certification. Tonight is a meet and greet, and hang out with the housemates and sleep. Tomorrow will be an early morning, with class at 8am.

With everything going on the last couple of months, I let a big milestone roll by under the radar. On May 28th, The Groom Room celebrated 10 years in business! It's been a wild ride ❤️
I can't even count the dogs I've grown to love, and all the ones I have mourned along with their families.
A year ago, I was in a dark place with both shoulders and one elbow trashed. I honestly didn't know if I would ever get back to work. I responded to a message for help with a pregnant cat because really, I wasn't doing anything for the foreseeable future anyway 😂 A year ago we took in a pretty girl and she brought 7 little babies into the world.
To celebrate their birthday and this wonderful milestone anniversary, The Groom Room is happy to host a fundraiser and adoption event for Feral Felines Fairygodmother.

Oh my goodness, it's going to be warm this weekend! I just wanted to share some safety tips with you all.
Remember that we are 40-45 minutes from an emergency vet on the weekends. Sometimes VCA Westmoreland can see emergencies during the day.
Take some time to check your first aid kit for your dog:
Eye wash in the form of saline eye wash or antimicrobial wash. Available at the local Farm Store
Wound care ointment - bacitracin ointment is ok, but nothing with pain relief.
Vetwrap is amazing and fairly inexpensive.
Non-stick gauze pads.
Benadryl clear liquid. Pink liquid is ok but the clear is less messy. Standard Benadryl dose is 1 mg/lb of body weight. It's a good idea to know how much your dog weighs for an accurate and effective dose. Also, if your pet has any health concerns, that dose may not apply, so always check with your vet.
Even though it's warm, the water is still really cold. Don't send them in very far yet, they may not be able to handle it.

I have openings for 10:30, 11, 11:30, 12, 2, 2:30, 3, 4:30 and 5:00 on Friday April 7th. Send me a message either through The Groom Room or my personal page to claim a spot.
Nail trimming is still just $5, with Dremel sanding available for just an additional $2.
Touch up appointments include a sanitary trim and eye trim for an additional $10.
Book for Friday and for $15, your dog will get a nail trimming, Dremel sanding, face tidy, sanitary trim and a bow or tie to look ready for the Easter bunny ❤️

It's been a while since I updated the page. I felt like I didn't have an end in sight, so I wasn't sure what to post. I'm back to work part time. I am working by appointment only as I am still scheduling around shoulder pain. I'm working on goals to move forward to serve not only the West Fern Ridge area, but also the grooming industry as a whole. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for sticking with me during this difficult year.
