Some dogs are harder to send home than others. They all touch our hearts, but there are some that really leave a mark. It could be their talent, or their personalities, or the lessons that they taught you because they weren’t easy to train. Scoot got her Master title, and is headed home. We will miss her very much.

With each ending is a new beginning. This little black beauty is “Izzie”. We look forward to making her the very best that she can be! For the next few months she will be raised in our home, with our kids and personal dogs, getting the best socialization she possibly can as her training begins.

Our young dogs kept it rolling this weekend at the Southern Berkshire Golden Retriever Club, going 6 for 6. Three years in a row we’ve run this master test and it is always one of the most well run and enjoyable events of the year. Thank you to the club and all of their workers, and especially to the judges that volunteer their time to make these events possible.

Master passes for:

👉Scoot - 🚨Master Title 🚨, owned by David Eaton and Mill Pond Retrievers. These mill pond dogs just keep getting it done.

👉Rookie - first pass in her first attempt at 17 months old, owned by David Eaton and Mill Pond Retrievers.

👉Koda - second pass in her second attempt at 18 months old, owned by Cory and Kristine Eisenhour

👉Jax - first pass, owned by David Lotito

👉Amber - fourth pass, owned by Michael Drummond

👉Boo - fifth pass, owned by Chance Wyman. Boo just turned 2 last week.

Our 2026 winter trip has come to an end, and it was a great one. Several young dogs picked up their first master passes, one new master hunter (Punch 👊 going 6/6, owned by Mill Pond Retrievers 💪), and our up and coming young dog crew made huge progress.

Whether you travel south in the winter or north in the summer, any retriever person will tell you that there is a lot that goes into this trip. None of this would be possible without my incredible wife, and my two wonderful daughters. And it certainly wouldn't be possible without the incredible folks in this sport that allow us to train on their grounds, and treat us like family. Terry Price and Angela gave us and our dogs a place to call home once again, and we cannot thank them enough. You know Oakridge Kennels is a special place when you just got back to Maine and already miss your family in the south.

Most importantly - we thank our clients for their unwavering support and trust. Big things coming for team WWR this year 🤘

- FC x MH, 20mon old female. Ready for master, derby, qualifying. Has hunted.
- FC x MH, 20mon old female. Nearly master ready, but has been out of training since October. Will make a fantastic trial or hunt test dog. Has hunted.
- FC AFC x QA2, 5 year old female. Master titled, multiple qualifying placements.
- FC AFC x MH, 10 week old male.
- FC AFC x MH, 3 mon old female.
