Alease has been working in veterinary medicine since 2016! Her passion for helping animals began when she was just 3 years old. ❤️

There’s nothing more rewarding to Alease than helping save a pet’s life. Seeing a critically ill pet recover and walk back out to their loving owner is a feeling she says is indescribable! 🥹❤️

Bring on the “spicy” patients! 🌶️😂 Alease loves working with pets who have a little extra attitude, and she also enjoys performing dentals!

No two pets are ever treated the same, even when their medical conditions are similar. Every patient is unique and gets plenty of extra lovin’ from Alease! 🐾

Alease is a busy mom of two! When she’s not running her kids to games, meets, or dance competitions, she loves 4-wheeling and “glamping” with her family!

Growing up without always having the resources to provide her pets with proper care inspired Autumn to pursue veterinary medicine and help animals receive the care they deserve.

The fast pace! There’s never a dull moment, and she loves it!

Meet Kathy, one of our wonderful Veterinary Assistants at Small Animal Emergency Services!

With 44 years in veterinary medicine and 37 years in emergency care, Kathy brings an incredible amount of experience, knowledge, and compassion to our team. ❤️

🐶 What Kathy Loves Most

Helping animals and the people who love them! Her favorite moments are seeing critically ill or injured pets recover and return home to their families. She especially enjoys challenging medical cases and figuring out the pieces of the puzzle.

🌈 Going Above and Beyond

Kathy also serves as SAES’s Death Doula and Grief & Bereavement Specialist, with training from the University of Vermont.

She helps families navigate difficult decisions and offers comfort and support after the loss of a beloved pet. Kathy personally reaches out to every family who loses a pet and continues supporting those who need her. ❤️

🐾 Life Outside the ER

Kathy is a proud Baltimore native and Ravens fan! 🏈 She enjoys traveling, spending time in nature, and making hospice visits with her therapy dog.

At home, she has quite the animal family—3 dogs, 2 cats, a goose, 3 ducks, and some squirrel friends she’s raised and released!

🌟 Meet Nicole, RVT, CCRP, CSCC! 🌟

Nicole has been working in veterinary medicine since she was just 15 years old and has been a Registered Veterinary Technician for 11 years!

❤️ Why veterinary medicine? Her love for animals started in childhood, and according to her parents, it’s the only career she ever wanted!

🚨 Favorite part of emergency medicine: The complex cases that challenge her and allow her to use all her skills as an RVT!

🐾 Her pets: Four cats (Bengals, a Maine C**n, and a gray tabby) and two dogs (Bernese Mountain Dog and Beauceron)!

🏅 Fun fact: Nicole is also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner and Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach specializing in dogs. She loves working with canine athletes!

😂 What animal matches her personality? A German Shepherd or Bengal cat — which happen to be her favorite breeds!

❤️ Why veterinary medicine? Madi loves being a voice for those who cannot verbally speak and advocating for every patient in her care!

🚨 Favorite part of emergency medicine: Caring for critical patients, monitoring anesthesia, and embracing the unpredictability of emergency medicine—you never know what’s coming through the door!

🐾 Her pets: Four dogs—including her three beloved Border Collies, Athena, Thalia, and Bia, and Orion, whom she adopted after he came through the ER—plus her horse, Jake! 🐴
