The Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic of the Sandhills 2021 aka Sandhills Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic (SNVC) offers high quality, low cost, spay and neuter services. The Foundation, organized as a 501c3 organization in 2006, purchased and remodeled the SNVC building into the premier spay/neuter facility that exists today. With support from CACF the Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic of the Sandhills was

opened in 2008. The result of this combined effort by CACF and the SNVC has resulted in 78,000 surgeries by the end of 2019. In its first year of operation, the Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic of the Sandhills performed over 4,200 spay/neuter surgeries for the initial nine county service area. By the end of 2008, the SNVC was performing at the rate of over 40 surgeries a day for individuals and groups from all nine counties. By spring 2012, 25,000 spay/neuter surgeries were provided at the Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic of the Sandhills and the coverage area expanded from nine counties to eleven counties in Central NC. Between 2007-2014 Dr. Joe Currie was the veterinarian owner. Between 2015-2019 Dr. Cynthia Eaton was the veterinarian owner. By 2019, 78,000 surgeries were provided to a thirteen-county service area. The SNVC was subsidized through 2019 by CACF as the facility and equipment were provided by CACF to the Clinic at no cost. Surgeries were directly subsidized through grants and donations. During 2020 the SNVC under Dr. Eaton operated independently from CACF; however, CACF continued to subsidize surgeries through partnerships with private veterinarians on behalf of affordable spay/neuter. With the creation of the Sandhills Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic (AKA: SNVC) the Foundation will continue to promote affordable spay/neuter at 5071 US Hwy 1 Suite C, Vass, NC. The new SNVC opens January 19, 2021 to carry on the mission of affordable spay/neuter with the Foundation’s support. Between December 19-January 18 the facility will undergo major renovations to make it a safer environment for both clients and staff. Our mission is to reduce pet overpopulation and increase the quality of life for pets through increasing accessibility to spay and neuter services to cats and dogs in our local, and surrounding areas. SNVC works with area animal shelters, rescues, and individual pet owners to provide affordable pet surgeries in North Carolina to achieve our mission.

Meet Emma and Caitlin (Ducky)! These wonderful young ladies started their journey at Sandhills Spay Neuter Veterinary Clinic SNVC as students of the Pinecrest animal science program. Ducky has volunteered for several years with us prior and Emma started her hours early this year! Both have become a vital part of our team and wonderful employees!

After graduating in June, Emma is starting Sandhills Community College in the fall for her Associates in Science, then transferring to NC State for pre-vet. Ducky will be starting at NC State in the fall, majoring in Animal Science, starting her pre-vet journey! We are so excited and proud of them!! We can’t wait to see what wonderful veterinarians they become!! ❤️🩺🎓

Update: Remy has been found and is home safe with his loving humans!!! Such great news! Thank you to everyone who shared, watched, and searched!!! ❤️ We are so happy for Remy and his family!

Please keep an eye out for Remy! This sweet boy escaped his collar when mom brought him to our clinic for his neuter appointment! He was last seen on the south side of US 1 near Dunrovin in Vass. His mom is missing him tons! Please contact us with any information if you think you may have seen Remy. He unfortunately does not have any identification on as he lost his collar, and he is not microchipped.
