Meet Griffin and one of our favorite games on the farm. 🌿

This is one of the ways we work on recall. Three people standing in a circle each taking turns calling Griffin over and rewarding him every time he comes. Simple concept. Incredibly important skill.

A reliable recall is one of the most valuable things your dog can learn. It is the difference between a dog you can trust off leash and one you are constantly chasing. It keeps them safe, builds communication, and strengthens the bond between you and your dog.

And the best part? Griffin thinks it is just a really fun game. 🥹🤍

We are SongDog Kennels, a small and intentional dog training operation on a 200 acre farm in northern Michigan. Jason Major has been doing this for over 30 years and every program, every dog, and every family we work with gets our full attention.

We offer board and train programs, behavioral therapy, tune ups, and breed one litter of British Labradors a year.

There are no words for how grateful we are. 🌿

Over the years we have watched families come back with their second dog, their third dog, and now their children’s dogs. That is not something we take lightly. That is trust that has been built over decades and it means everything to us.

This is not just a business for us. It is our life. And the families who have made it that way are the reason we love what we do.

Training your dog is only half of it. 🐾

The other half is you. After every program we work with owners to make sure the training actually carries over at home. The structure, the commands, the expectations. None of it sticks without the owner being part of the process.

This is what we call transfer of training and it is one of the most important things we do. 🐶
