Seeing the future of vetmed grow is what it’s all about! 🧡

A huge shout-out to Cristian, a 4th-year veterinary student who just wrapped up his FOURTH year in the Banfield Student Job Program! 🐾

Rejoining the incredible team at Plaza Centro Caguas, Cristian spent his summer leveling up his skills in preventive medicine, surgical techniques, and client communication. But his hands-on learning didn’t stop in the hospital – he also teamed up with Banfield to help run a free community vaccination clinic for puppies and kittens in Yauco!

A huge thank you to Dr. Aponte, Dr. Carrero, and Dr. Alvarez for their incredible mentorship, leadership, and dedication to guiding the next generation of vet med. 🙌

We are so proud to support future doctors like Cristian as they turn their passion into purpose. Join us in cheering him on as he finishes out his final year of vet school! 🩺

Our teams recently came together for an incredible give-back event in Puerto Rico, led by Dr. Nidia Alvarez (Community Champion, PR) and Practice Manager Brenda Corcino, CVT (Orlando PM & Southeast Region Community Champion)! 🇵🇷

Together with an amazing group of volunteers – including vet students from Ana G. Méndez University! – the team vaccinated 225 dogs and 63 cats, while educating local pet owners on the importance of heartworm prevention and deworming. 🩺✨

“I really wanted to bring stuff back to my community... to bring all this love that I can give to pets here. It was just very fulfilling for me to be able to provide services that are not available to everyone.” – Brenda C. 🧡

Puerto Rico, we are OFFICIALLY OPEN at Plaza Guaynabo! 🇵🇷

A new hospital means a new home for a team of passionate veterinary professionals – and we couldn’t be more excited for the Associates who now call Banfield Guaynabo home. From day one, they’ve been building a team, preparing for patients, and getting ready to serve the pets and people of their community. 🐾

The doors are open, the team is ready, and the next chapter starts NOW. We’re so proud of our Guaynabo associates and everything this team has accomplished to get here.🩺✨

Meet Dr. Shari Mahoney, Area Chief of Staff in the Dallas market! 🩺

Dr. Mahoney has been part of the Banfield family for a decade, serving as Area Chief of Staff for the last 3.5 years. For her, staying with Banfield comes down to our commitment to a gold standard of care – from wellness plans to top-tier anesthesia protocols – and a constant drive to do better for pets every single day.

Beyond high-quality medicine, it’s the community that makes her job so special. Having spent 10 years with her Rockwall hospital team, she considers them family! Now, as an Area Chief of Staff overseeing four additional hospitals, she brings that same supportive, family-first culture to teams across the market.

Whether it’s the southern hospitality, amazing culture, or endless career opportunities, Dr. Mahoney is proud to call Texas home.
