🐝 National Pollinator Week is a reminder of just how essential bees, butterflies, and other pollinators are to our ecosystems, food supply, and everyday lives.

This week also highlights an evolving area in veterinary medicine—honey bees now fall more directly under veterinary oversight due to the VFD (Veterinary Feed Directive) rule and updates in FDA policy on medically important antimicrobials. That means veterinarians may increasingly be called upon to help guide and support honey bee health and treatment decisions.

As we celebrate pollinators, we also recognize the growing role veterinary professionals play in protecting even the smallest patients that keep our world thriving. 🐝🌼

Planning a picnic with your furry best friend? Make it a fun and safe outing by packing some pet-friendly treats!

✅ Safe picnic snacks for dogs:
• Carrot sticks 🥕
• Apple slices (without seeds) 🍎
• Blueberries 🫐
• Watermelon (seedless) 🍉
• Plain cooked chicken 🍗
• Green beans 🫛

🚫 Avoid sharing picnic favorites like grapes, raisins, chocolate, onions, garlic, alcohol, and foods containing xylitol, as these can be toxic to pets.
