Orchards Feed was established in 1889, making it the oldest existing business in its original location in Clark County Washington. It originally started out as simply a country feed store where surrounding farmers bought feed for their cows, rabbits, chickens and pigs. The Carlson family bought the business in 1989 and began to expand the store by including supplies for dogs, cats, horses and wild

life. While we may not stock elephant feed or alligator chow, we know where to get it and what it sells for. Our main focus of products falls into five major categories. Those include horse and livestock, pets, wild bird, lawn and garden, and heating fuel. We carry a broad spectrum in each category to take care of a wide range of customers. We pride ourselves on not only carrying and having in stock those items you need, but also if we don’t stock what you want we will get it for you. And if you want it brought to you, we will even deliver it. We are a business that prides itself on consistency, history and community. We have been here for over 120 years and expect to be here for another 120 years. The Orchards Feed team has more experience in this business than any of its competitors in the area. With management having a combined 50 plus years’ experience, we are unequalled in the industry. Customer Service is also a cornerstone of our business philosophy. Question for my fall time customers, yes its hard to believe its already time to order our Pumpkins and Gourds from our farmer friends.

We sell our farm fresh pumpkins, squash and fancy gourds here at Orchards Feed Store for .59cents lb and we sell a whole heck of a lot. We sold roughly 4,000 lbs of pumpkins and gourds last year, hundred of bundles of corn stalks, mums, fall asters, the mini straw bales and large bales of straw available. We of course will be getting an even bigger fall display for you to take your harvest pet/family pics on, as well as another giant pumpkin like the beast we had last year.

My Question is, is this still important to you, is this a tradition you would like us to continue? We know that a lot of people said they wished they knew we had all the things we had cause they had already bought their pumpkins earlier at big box etc, but If we give you a month or two notice would you want us to still go out and have it available for you here? I can't beat the .39 to .49 cent a lb winco/HD/FM pricing, but I do think the varieties we offer and the freshness and the fact that they are all edible and amazing for making pies with after displaying might make up for that.

What are you thoughts? Continue this tradition?

We also donate around 200lbs to our dear friends at the Assistance League of Southwest Washington to make their amazing indoor pumpkin patch for the children in their care.

P.s. Honest answers are totally ok, and be prepared I will probably put up something like this very soon for the Christmas trees soon, I know I know, its too soon lol, but the sooner we place our orders the more likely we get what we want and at a better price etc.

Well, it's one of those times to have an uncomfortable conversation about a Price Increase, and unfortunately its on the #1 brand of Freeze Dried Raw and Frozen Raw that we sell at Orchards Feed Store, - Northwest Naturals Raw Pet Food.

We have asked questions, but unfortunately, we no longer have our sales rep so there is not a lot of information, besides the cover letter we were sent, and the video available on their website. We asked the distributors and the only information we were given was that they have been eating the rising cost over the last couple of years and have not passed it along until now, they were caught off-guard as well. Unfortunately it is the largest increase I have seen in all my years of selling pet food.

We know a couple of things, it has been a NW staple and a great source of raw and freeze dried food for so many of you, but some of you will not be able to continue feeding it as some of the price increases we have been quoted are between 30 and 40%.

But this is what we can do.

1. We can assure you we will not raise our prices on what we currently have on hand until the new product comes in.
2. We will try to absorb as much of the hit as possible, knowing that we already have lower margins and prices than most around us.
3. If you are struggling with the new prices and need a switch we have lots of people here who can help you transition to another food.
4. We honestly feel your pain, a lot of us (me included) feed this food daily, and we will see what we can do with bringing on replacements that are not as high of a price.
5. Hope and pray, that something changes, cause this does not seem feasible long term.

Thank you for understanding and realize that this is obviously not the kind of news we want to pass on. But we always want to.be open, transparent and honest about these issues, as you are our lifeblood.

If you want to get what we have now on the shelf before the price changes, come in before Wed when the next batch of food with new prices starts getting delivered.

Today has been a wonderful day of talking w our amazing Orchards Feed Store customers as I stocked the expanded house plant section.

It was the same conversation over and over "do you know you are so much lower than anyone around you" "we came up from Portland because someone tagged you in a group post" "are you sure these prices are correct" and my favorite I heard 3 different times "you guys are a hidden gem".

So let me answer some questions for you.

1. Yes they are locally grown for us.
2. Yes we know that we are far below pricing than other stores.
3. We are a 138 year old feed store that has not survived by price gouging. We would rather sell "more" of a great product at a "fair" price than hold onto plants and nursery stock in hopes of making some extra bucks off our amazing Orchards Feed Customers.
4. We stand behind this principle of fair pricing from a particular petunia to plentiful pounds of pet foods.
5.You keep our doors open and we want you to trust that we are not in the buisness to take extra money out of your pocket. Does that make us different, yes. Does that make us weird, a little bit, are we gonna keep it up. Yep.

So come in and take a look at what we have to offer and tell your friends. Oh and check out our roses, that are all in full bloom!

Our dear friends Marge and Kristy brought in our wonderful Honey House Farms honey order. We are stocked with so many different honey varieties and all of the sizes, from.honey sticks to gallons!

And I got one of my favorite things, a hug from Marge, the best part of our orders.

The honey is located right inside the front door of Orchards Feed Store and if you have not tried their honey, you need to!

Also available their bee pollen and gift towers, always a welcome gift, well Unless you are like Ryan, who besides not liking farm fresh eggs, also doesn't like honey. Jeeze Ryan 😆

Spa day by our very own Orchards Feed Store staff Brittany Robinson!

The Andrews got their goaty pedicures, Charlie and Charlie Brown got pedicures and their winter Finn Sheep wool jackets sheared, and Sookie and Bella had their pedicures and beautiful alpaca wool trimmed.

We love our Farm Family Friends and we make sure we care for them, so today is spa day this week our amazing Vet Alice from Eclipse Equine Veterinary will be coming to give everyone their booster shots and check ups.

Did you know all of our Farm Animals were either gifted to us by amazing customers who needed to find forever homes, some were rescued but all are here for good. We don't charge to visit them, our mission is to give young and old a place to come and pet them, talk w them and disconnect from city life.

Does it cost us money, yep, full time care from our staff, grooming fees, vet fees, feed and supplies, but we do it so y'all can connect w these critters than need you as much as you need them. We are different than other stores, we try to make sure you feel like you are stepping back into a different era of shopping.
