Orchards Feed Store

Orchards Feed Store All of your pet, garden, farm, home, and hardware needs in one place! Orchards Feed currently can feed any animal on earth.

Orchards Feed was established in 1889, making it the oldest existing business in its original location in Clark County Washington. It originally started out as simply a country feed store where surrounding farmers bought feed for their cows, rabbits, chickens and pigs. The Carlson family bought the business in 1989 and began to expand the store by including supplies for dogs, cats, horses and wild

life. While we may not stock elephant feed or alligator chow, we know where to get it and what it sells for. Our main focus of products falls into five major categories. Those include horse and livestock, pets, wild bird, lawn and garden, and heating fuel. We carry a broad spectrum in each category to take care of a wide range of customers. We pride ourselves on not only carrying and having in stock those items you need, but also if we don’t stock what you want we will get it for you. And if you want it brought to you, we will even deliver it. We are a business that prides itself on consistency, history and community. We have been here for over 120 years and expect to be here for another 120 years. The Orchards Feed team has more experience in this business than any of its competitors in the area. With management having a combined 50 plus years’ experience, we are unequalled in the industry. Customer Service is also a cornerstone of our business philosophy. A member of the Orchards Feed team will greet you, help you make your purchase and carry it to your vehicle.

Our nursery sale is going on until the end of day Sunday Sept 13th here at Orchards Feed Store .

Lots of great deals!

Everything is at least 25% off, but also some flash sales of $1, $2, $3.

Plus all pf our roses bushes are 50% off so only $11 to $15 for an amazing rose plant.

We had a horrible experience with the shut off of our wells and watering systems when the electricity got cut off from the gas leak down the street. Our roses went unwatered for 5 days in high 90s. And boy they looked rough, we spent hours pruning back, watering for weeks, re-fertilizing and adding new soil. Thanks to our rose reps and our Friends of the Longview Library Rose Garden, WA who gave great advice, it made it so our roses look better at the end of the season than they did In the middle of the season 😆.

Heres a bowl of rose blossoms I brought into work from my garden, roses bring me joy, can you tell.

More plant seminars to come and were actively prepping a class and training area in the Old Mill!

See you soon ❤️!

What do Barn Swallows and Ladybugs have in common? Well Orchards Feed of course.

We have multiple nests in our eves of the Orchards Feed Store front porch. The Barn Swallows have been producing so many babies this year. We love our resident wildlife, these guys mean we don't have to use any insecticides on our Barn Yard Friends. You might notice when you visit the donkeys sheep and goats out there that there are no flies or mosquitoes flying around, but you will see the swallows zooming in and out eating their fill.

Sure, they p**p a lot for awhile, but the payoff is worth it. By not using insecticides on the property we also get to have a whole host of beneficial insects as well, hence why we have over 2,000 roses w zero aphids, thanks to our lady bug colony!

Zac and Carley working in the Orchards Feed Store greenhouse, todays lesson is on Own Root Rose propagation. These are on roses that I hybridized that will be available for purchase next year along with some other amazing hard to find rare own root varieties.

We be focusing next year on diversification of our roses and will be "The Place" to get hard to find, unique and highly sought after roses. We will be stocked from High Country Roses , bold and beautiful new creations from our friend Sue at Rocky Mountain Rose Lab. As well as our offerings from Weeks Roses and David Austin roses. You asked and were delivering.

Look forward to more rose classes and more instructional videos and posts.

Remember our roses are all on sale for only $15 after our water system failure issue when the city turned off all power to our property for tye gas leak down the street. We were not aware that our wells and sprinkler systems totally reset as that has not happened during previous power losses.

But now they are all pruned, cleaned up fertilized and sprouting great new canes and buds. All thanks to our amazing Orchards nursery and warehouse staff that took hours and hours to spruce it all up.

Just Pop these in the ground now for amazing plants full of blooms next spring.

See you soon ❤️!

Thank you for your Orchards Feed Store votes for Best of Clark County 26.

We Didn't get 1st Place for Best Pet Store, but we got 2nd, Congratulations to MudBay and the Wulff Family, Long time Friends, for their win.

We got 3rd for Hardware, congratulations to Parkrose Hardware.

We got 5th for Nursery, congratulations to Yard 'N Garden Land.

We feel very honored that you remembered us and that we got enough votes to be considered for 2 new departments Hardware and Nursery.

Jumping into the Nursery World Hardcore like this year has been a fun, challenging and eye opening experience and we are still working out some of the bumps. But we are excited about next year even more. Wait til you hear some exciting news, being announced this week.

We are continuing to grow as a company, cause even at 138 years old if you are through changing - you are through.

Thank you all!

P.s. Why isn't there a feed store category? Also if there were a cutest Donkey Category, you know we would get 1st place lol.

Good Morning from Orchards Feed Store!

The Andrews were happy to hang w our Andrew R. this morning along w Charlie, Charlie Brown, Wilma, Fred Jackson, Clifford, Bella and Sookie.

Remember to stop by and say Hello and give them a pet on their heads your next shoping trip. They are all very social and love to see all the regulars. We have free treats for them at the front counter too.

We do want to address something that can be a little sensitive. We have had customers who want to bring in home grown treats, grass clippings, fruit and other very kind gifts for our critters to eat. Though we think that is a beautiful gesture, we have to say "no thank you" as we need to know exactly where our feed and treats come from. And if we start making exceptions it can cascade into them being given inappropriate treats. We don't know what chemicals might have drifted or what they might have been exposed to that the customer might not have been aware. We have found St. John's Wort, Laurel, Whole bags of grass clippings, Meadow grass w Tansey, large amounts of fruits, glass bottles, golf balls, etc in the pens. When we see the camera footage the most part has been well meaning customers giving treats and the bad things have been kids whos parents have not been paying attention. But the bad things have been a super tiny percentage, but we have to be diligent.

We have had to politely refuse any other offerings and have offered our Beaver Brand Apple & Oat low sugar low fat treats, and most people understand, but we have also been cussed out for it. So we ask for your understanding and know that we do it for the care of our animals.

Fun fact to end the post, did you know that every day our entire herd will go to the far side of Covington road around 5pm. They do this because they love to see all the people who drive by and have to stop due to 5 o'clock traffic. So dont forget to wave or shout out hellos if you are stuck out there.

See you soon ❤️!

Our Orchards Feed Store nursery clearance will continue until the end of the season. All trees, shrubs, perennials, fruit, vines, all 25% off our already lower than other pricing.

But our roses are all 50% off and ready to be put in your garden for beautiful blooms next year. We bought heavy because of all the interest last year, but with the economy and gas prices, food prices etc etc etc we know things have been tight. So were clearing out our stock and will buy smarter and unfortunately much fewer next year.

So take this opportunity to get the ones we have this year. At 50% the roses are anywhere from $12.50 to $15.00 for any bushes and $24.99 to $34.99 for tree roses. That is quite the deal. Again, our loss is your gain, it just hasn't been a good nursery end of year and we know its affecting a lot of people. But we would love to see your gardens be beautiful next year, and plant the future blooms of happiness.

See you soon ❤️! 🌹
