Hi all. We need to rehome our oldest dachshund. We have done everything but she is uncontrollable. We've taken her to behavior lessons. We have worked and worked with her without much success. At this point, she's spending most of her life in her crate and it breaks my heart. She has so much energy... walks are not enough. We have a fenced yard, but she barks non stop even when we're outside with her. She fights with our other dogs. She fights with the neighbor dogs. She bites... we've got scars all over from her. She jumps up and down all the time. She opens drawers. She gets on the counter. She'll jump and jump until she gets a hold of whatever is on the counter. She has to be constantly supervised.
She's a really sweet dog one on one. She's wicked smart. She loves to travel and she does really well in cars. She gets along with the cat.
We've had her for her whole six years and we just can't continue to put her and our other dogs at risk. They draw blood all the time.
