Fun Focus - All of us at Pawsitive Ripples Effect Project wanted to share some funny animals with you today. Animals are awesome! Day-to-day they're a source of therapeutic support, a best friend, even a reason to get up in the morning, and they can bring so much joy. Here's to all the animals that bring laughter and support to our lives!

Today we honor Marin Luther King, Jr.

The story of this photo is that in 1964 when Martin Luther King was put in the back of a police car in Florida, officers put a German Shepherd in the back with the intent to intimidate him, but instead, the two became friends. While it has been disputed that the dog is actually feeling friendly, we see the pup showing no aggression and looking calm while King has a smile. This photo is a sweet representation of King's core value of meeting intimidation with love as he fought for racial equity and justice with nonviolent action.

A new year can be exciting with the energy of things to come & new paths ahead to explore. Strive to make space for moments that bring you laughter, joy, self-care, & calm. Stay flexible & open to the positive things this year may bring.

The start of the new year can also be daunting, especially if you've been going through a tough time, facing challenges, or working on personal change. Remember: growth is messy, there's almost always obstacles when working on change, & things may not all come together as quickly as we'd like, but take time to celebrate each win, each step forward, as it happens.

Whatever steps you choose to first take into this new year, big strides or tiptoes, we think you're awesome for taking those steps!
