🔥Hot diggity dogs! It's gonna be heating up this weekend so here are some of our tips to keep your pups safe and clear of heat stroke! 🔥

🔥1. Early walks before the sun is high or after the heat of the day when the sun is going down. (Remember PNW our heat of the day is the mid-afternoon around 3pm till 6pm)

🔥2. Check the pavement temperature! Your pups paws are sensitive! Use the back of your hands, if you can't hold it on the group more than 7-10 seconds it's too hot! NO WALK!

🔥3. Keep cool (not ice), fresh water available at all times. If water is too cold and a dog is overheating it can shock a dogs body. Same goes for putting water on dogs that are already overheating.

🔥4. Lastly if your dog loves going on adventures with you make sure on hikes you go at their pace in this heat, they do have a fur coat!
And for swimming, practice safety in rivers and lakes, currents might be stronger than your dogs abilities. They have floatation devices for pups!

But also HAVE FUN IN THE SUN! 🌞

P.S. if you suspect you dog is overheating (specially our short nose breeds) or has heat stroke please take them to your vet immediately!
