We’re excited to announce that Nefer-Temu Pharaoh Hounds has earned AKC Breeder of Merit GOLD recognition! 🏆🐾

Fun fact: we actually met the requirements several years ago—we just didn’t get around to applying until now! 😂

The AKC’s advanced Breeder of Merit levels recognize breeders based on the number of champions, field champions, and performance-titled dogs they have produced, along with documented health testing and other breeding achievements.

Happy 3rd birthday to "Lima" and the rest of the 'Sun, Sand, & Surf' litter (Swayzie x Surf). What a wonderful litter it turned out to be - including 3 of the Top 10 AKC lure coursers in the country in 2025 (Lumen, Tyra, and Lima)!

Lima celebrated in style today by taking a nice Best of Breed in Lewiston, handled on this occasion by me, but usually handled by Chandler Thomas Becker.

This is a compilation of video clips taken a few weeks ago when our Sonic x Surf pups were eight weeks old. Several had already gone to their new homes at this point.

Nefer-Temu is known for consistently producing great lure courses. We are super proud to have bred over two dozen Best in Field winners and 9 Specialty Best in Field winners so far.

This is how we introduce our puppies to the lure. It's pretty much all instinct, but we do think it helps to introduce them young to instill keenness and a love of the "game." We start with the lunge whip at about six weeks of age and continue it as a fun game for the pups several times a week. We keep the sessions very short and stop while they are still very interested, always leaving them wanting/hoping for more.

We love fat, happy puppies! Here are Green Girl, Pink Girl, and Black Boy in milk comas. 3.5 weeks old.
