✨🩷 MALIBU RUN SPARKLE AT THE FLORIDA HORSE PARK 🩷✨
Some horse shows are about ribbons. Some are about scores. And then there are the horse shows that remind you exactly why we fell in love with this sport in the first place. 🥹🐴✨
This weekend at the Florida Horse Park, Malibu Run had one of the BEST horse show experiences we have ever had and being part of a UDJC show made it even more special.
From the incredible judges and show team to the educational opportunities, the entire weekend felt centered around one thing:
HORSEMANSHIP. 🐴🩷
And getting to participate in such an amazing clinic with David, the founder of UDJC, was truly the icing on the cake. What an incredible opportunity for our riders to learn, ask questions, receive guidance, and experience a different perspective from someone who has helped create an organization so focused on developing better riders and better horsemen.
The clinic wasn't just about getting around a course or making a pretty picture.
It was about why.
Why we make a certain decision.
Why we communicate with our horses in a certain way.
How small adjustments can make a huge difference.
And how becoming a better rider starts with becoming a better partner to your horse.
THAT is the education we want our riders to have. 🩷
And then there was the feedback.
The judges, officials, and entire UDJC show team were absolutely amazing. The feedback was thoughtful, educational, and, most importantly, usable.
Our riders didn't have to wonder, “Why did I get that score?”
They received feedback they could understand and immediately apply.
A rider could walk out of one class, talk through the feedback, make an adjustment, get back on, and improve right away.
That is education.
That is horsemanship.
That is what this sport should be about. ✨
This weekend reminded us that horsemanship comes first.
Not the ribbon.
Not the placing.
Not the price tag of the horse.
Not how much money was spent getting here.
The HORSE comes first. Always. 🐴🩷
It was about listening to our horses, caring for them, communicating better, making adjustments, and learning how to become better partners.
And our riders did exactly that.
We overcame obstacles.
We navigated nerves.
We made new connections.
We learned from mistakes.
We celebrated progress.
We cheered for each other.
And we left better horsemen and horsewomen than when we arrived.
Of course, we are always thrilled when the ribbons come home with us and there were certainly some moments worth celebrating! 🏆🩷
But the thing I am most proud of is what happened between the ribbons.
The conversations.
The lessons.
The little lightbulb moments.
The instant improvements.
The riders helping riders.
The horses being cared for and listened to.
The friendships growing.
That is Malibu Run.
This weekend made me look around and realize just how special the little family we are building really is. 🥹🩷
To our riders: I am SO proud of you.
To our horses: thank you for teaching us, carrying us, and trusting us.
To David and the entire UDJC team: thank you for creating an experience where education, feedback, sportsmanship, and horsemanship were truly at the center of the weekend. You gave our riders something far more valuable than a ribbon you gave them tools to keep growing.
And to our Malibu Run family…
The future is BRIGHT. ✨
Here's to more miles, more learning, more laughter, more growth, and a whole lot more Malibu Run sparkle along the way. 🩷✨🐴
Because at Malibu Run, we aren't just chasing ribbons.
We're building horsemen.
We're building confidence.
We're building friendships.
We're building a future.
And we're doing it together. 🩷
✨ KEEP RIDING. KEEP LEARNING. KEEP SPARKLING. ✨
