We kicked off our 2026 show season with an incredible first show at SAHIBA. Every single one of our riders had breakthrough partnerships with their horse— Every. Single. One. Each pair came ready to work on goals that did not involve ribbons and they crushed those goals with ribbons in the process.
🔥King had his first show back in nearly 2 years coming off an injury and rehab and Anna was recovering from ankle surgery. To say they both grew during that time was an understatement. King and Anna earned SHIH Supreme champion, Halter Champion and Adult Amateur 19-49 High Point Champion! Earning high ribbons in every under saddle class in the amateur division. An incredible comeback story for both of them.
🔥Maria and Finn are a new partnership this spring and they are truly a match made in heaven. Maria came with the goal to just give Finn a good first rated show experience and ended up bringing home every prize that wasn’t nailed down. Maria kept Finn calm and cool the whole weekend and gave him the experience she was hoping for. In addition to bringing Finn, Maria also brought her superstar, Noche, to log show miles and chip away at first level. He had tremendous growth in the dressage ring as they fine tuned their hard work from winter. Bringing 2 horses to a show is not an easy feat, but Maria handled it with class and grace.
🔥Aubrey and Phoenix are also a new partnership and these two probably had the most growth through the weekend. Phoenix was his usual self in the arena, but was apprehensive in the dressage court. Aubrey stuck to her guns and knew she could tackle an Intro test— and tackle it she did! Against all odds, she and Phoenix put down a lovely and RELAXED intro A test and went on to place well in all of their under saddle classes.
🔥Aiden and Blaze are old hands at this showing thing & they acted like the seasoned veterans they are. They tried western dressage for the very first time and had incredible scores, proving that this just might be Blaze’s next venture! Blaze also made his in hand debut with very respectable scores and ribbons. Blaze didn’t put a toe out of line & Aiden was relaxed the whole time.
🔥Dre and Morgan really put their training to the test and Dre was the best baby horse! He handled everything with poise and calm, was rideable and adjustable, and only had a few baby moments. He rode the training level tests for the first time and made it look easy! His best class of the weekend was his last class, which is what you always want at the show.
🔥Last but not least, the show’s Adult Amateur 50+ High Point Champion was Julie with Evan in their very first show together. They ribboned in almost every class and Evan trusted Julie with every request, going around like the campaigner that he is. These two had so much fun at the show, making Julie’s first show in almost 20 years one for the books.
Overall, WHAT a show, what a team and what a weekend!! Congrats to all and we cannot wait for the next show!
