The anger is coming after the shock subsides. Anger that homes couldn’t be protected. It’s a miracle that no human lives were lost in the Complex fires.
As the mother of a firefighter who was deployed at a wildfire northwest of here for two weeks, away from his family, during the complex fire, firefighters who were here, are simply put, feeling the helplessness of what they had to endure protecting what they could without perishing, and guilt that they couldn’t do more in this perfect sh*tstorm.
For those criticizing decisions, there’s a reason no one perished.
Thank you firefighters for giving your everything. ❤️
