D and L Ranch

D and L Ranch Unfortunately, due to health reasons, we are no longer offering lessons, training or boarding. It has happened in our lives and it can happen in yours.

We believe horses have a unique way of reaching inside of us, healing and bringing us joy. They help us find our strength, independence and self esteem, just to name a few. Our goal is to bring this healing and joy to others. We also start and train horses using natural horsemanship. We also offer horse boarding. Formally known as Tunquist Farms

I want to sincerely thank everyone who has been part of my journey, both 2 legged and 4 legged. I have enjoyed my time, learned so much, met some amazing people who have become friends, and horses who have made me a better partner.

Due to health reasons I have retired from training, lessons and boarding.

Praying God blesses you all with health and joy within!

Ride on! 🐎

Meet the new addition to D and L Ranch. This is Flag, he is a 2 year old Mustang, only 13.2 hands, 700 lbs. He will hopefully mature to between 14.2 and 15 hands. A young boy Issac under the watchful eye of his mother, Danielle Alfaro, a TIP trainer, worked with him, got him gentle and respectful...Issac did an awesome job. Thank you!

Some of my clients came for a visit and brought me this great table for between the chairs on the tack room's front porch. I am blessed to have wonderful clients that become wonderful friends.

Captain Kirk, patriarch of the ranch, fondly known as the "old man" left us yesterday. He was 31 and loved by young and old alike. Kirk was a kind and gentle soul who gave us many fond memories, he will be missed. Run free "old man" in the lush green pastures of heaven with Aspen, your girlfriend, Sequoia and Rusty.

It's with a broken heart we said goodbye to Aspen today. Unfortunately, the medicines were not enough to control her insulin resistance so the decision was made to end her suffering and let her join Sequoia, Rusty, Missy and Wildfire in the lush green pastures of heaven where she can run pain free. RIP Aspen, you and your nickering will be missed!

At school, 13-year-old AJ was a victim of bullying. Unlike most of his peers, he is on the autism spectrum and deals with severe anxiety and ADD. Every day, he had to gather his courage to face his bullies. He struggled to make friends and adapt to a traditional school setting, and his family recogn...

Sequoia was the heart and soul of this ranch. Her passing has left a hole in hearts and our program here at the ranch. Please understand as we take time to mourn and figure out where we go from here. My mom always said "God knows the way," so we shall try to listen to His leading. In the meantime know we are doing our best and please pray God's will, will be done.

Sequoia and I fought hard but unfortunately it wasn't enough to save her. She taught many people to love, trust and ride. She will be missed by many. She is now free to run and eat grass, free from pain. I'm sure her and Rusty are together in pastures of green enjoying life in the Father's presence.

Thank you all for your support and prayers during all of this. She got the ultimate healing, not what I wanted, but my God knows best.
