Your tax-deductible donations go to support these very deserving animals. Coastal is dedicated to providing new beginnings for homeless German Shepherds who have be

en abandoned, neglected, abused, relinquished by their owners or just left at local shelters to await an uncertain future. We are committed to finding loving permanent homes for the Orphaned dogs in our care. Coastal is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization. Our mission is to educate the public about German Shepherds, their lifespan, personality, and activity level, along with overall responsible dog ownership. We also raise awareness of the overpopulation of animals through education, training, spaying, and neutering. We work very hard to match each dog with the adoptive families. All prospective adoptive families must complete an online application followed by a telephone interview and then receive a home visit before a German Shepherd is placed in their forever home.

Stanley joined our rescue back in March. When Stanley first came to us, he was very skinny and clearly needed time to recover and rebuild. Together with his foster family, we’ve been helping him put on a healthy weight, regain strength, and settle in as he waits for his forever home.

Stanley’s foster says he’s a total sweetheart and very much a lover, not a fighter, and honestly, that sums him up pretty well.

This handsome guy loves people, enjoys being wherever his humans are, and spends his days patrolling the house from the hallway, tossing toys around to entertain himself, and occasionally sneaking into bed in the middle of the night (quietly, of course).

Stanley is:
🐾 Completely housebroken (zero accidents)
🐾 Friendly and social
🐾 Calm and adaptable
🐾 Food motivated and knows sit, shake, and down
🐾 A champion self-entertainer
🐾 Surprisingly athletic for such a big boy

Stanley will thrive with people who want a loyal companion nearby, whether that means adventures together or simply relaxing at home. Even while healing, Stanley has shown us what a resilient, sweet, and surprisingly athletic dog he is. We can only imagine what this big boy will look like once he’s fully feeling like himself again ❤️

We recently welcomed Cleo back to our Coastal K9 pack ❤️

Cleo is a beautiful 4-5 year-old German Shepherd mix with a gentle soul who is looking for a calm, patient, and loving forever home. Through no fault of her own, Cleo has experienced multiple transitions between the shelter system and a couple of homes, but through it all she has continued to open her heart. Over time, she has grown into an affectionate, loyal companion who simply wants to be loved.

Cleo loves other dogs, enjoys off-leash play, is potty trained, knows basic commands, and thrives with routine, exercise, and kind guidance. While she may take a little time to fully feel comfortable with new people, with dogs she has no problem making friends.

A wonderful forever home for Cleo would be one with another dog or where she can enjoy regular playtime and companionship with other dogs. For the right family, Cleo will be an incredibly devoted companion. 🐾

ADOPTION NEWS: Seven-year-old Sophie’s story is one of resilience, healing, and finally finding the love she deserved all along. ❤️

When Sophie first came to Coastal K9, she needed a safe place to land and get beyond the confusion of being dropped off at the shelter by her family. Over time, this sweet girl showed us exactly who she was , gentle, loyal, loving, and so deserving of a second chance.

And now… Sophie’s second chance has become her forever. 🏡

We are so happy to share that Sophie has officially been adopted by a wonderful family who completely fell in love with her. At 7 years old, Sophie proved that it’s never too late for a rescue dog to find happiness, security, and a place to truly belong.

Seeing senior dogs like Sophie get the ending they deserve will always mean something special to us. Thank you to everyone who helped her along the way, from transporters, volunteers, fosters, supporters, and now her forever family.
Happy tails, sweet Sophie. Your new chapter is just beginning. ❤️🐾

🐾 DOG OF THE MONTH: WOODY 🐾

Woody didn’t know there was an angel looking out for him… but there was.

This little pup came from a home where he experienced cruelty no dog should ever face. We didn’t learn the full story at first — until one of our rescue partners reached out and told us what Woody had survived, and why the shelter was fighting to make sure he’d never be sent back.

Woody was safe in the shelter… but safety isn’t the same as secure. He needed rescue. He needed a future. So Coastal K9 made room — and made a promise:

Woody will only know kindness from here on out.

Since arriving at the Ranch, Woody has been welcomed into the pack with open arms. And in the video, you can see it happening in real time:

🐾 the playful wiggles
💛 the “maybe I can trust you” moments

He’s learning that not every human brings harm — and that love can be real, consistent, and safe.

What happened to Woody should never have happened.
But those days are behind him now.

Now, Woody is a puppy with a whole life ahead of him… and we’re determined to find the home he deserves:
a home filled with patience, protection, and lifelong love.

ADOPTION NEWS - Daphne’s life changed forever when she was rescued in March ❤️

This young, spunky girl is full of affection, curiosity, and puppy energy, happily discovering all the love and joy her new life has to offer. But little did Daphne know… her forever home came with a very special surprise.

Waiting for her was fellow Coastal K9 alum Harold, who was rescued back in 2024. When Harold’s mom decided it was time to add another dog to the family, we arranged a meet-and-greet, and the connection was instant.

As you can see from the photos, Daphne absolutely adores her new brother and is living her very best life. Stories like this are exactly why we do what we do. 🐾

Meet Murphy 🤎

Murphy is a recent rescue who spent time in a foster home, so we’ve been able to see who he is in a home environment.

He settles in quickly, learns routines fast, and carries himself with a calm, confident presence. He’s house trained, well-mannered, quiet, and easy to live with. Smart and food-motivated, he responds well to clear, consistent guidance.

Because of his intelligence and confidence, Murphy will thrive with an experienced, structured handler who can provide leadership and consistency. He’s not a dog for a “soft” approach. He’s happiest when expectations are clear and consistent. He loves his people and may need help with boundaries around them, but with the right guidance, he continues to grow into a balanced, loyal companion.
