A little bit ago I presented a new class: Public Manners Dog Group Class !
We visit 6 friendly dog places in the Vallejo - Benicia area. Our goal is the same no matter which place we go: practice known commands with our dogs, make sure they are calm and happy, and have a good time.

I’m looking to do this class two days a week:
Tuesdays at 5pm and Saturdays at 11am

Training session with Dennis and Teddy. We are using clickers treats, leashes, collars, harnesses and clear communication!

If you want your dog to be good everywhere, you have to practice and train everywhere !

Make dog training fun for you and your dog, learn how to communicate and motivate your dog, and in the end have an amazing bond with your dog.

Training Session 1 with Dennis !

It’s been awhile since seeing Dennis so we are refreshing our foundational behaviors, walking skills, and social skills.

Why do dogs pull?
1. You are letting them!
2. They haven’t been taught how to walk on a leash with a person yet.

If you want to work on pulling with your dog, number 1 thing to start doing is stop letting them pull you. If they pull, do not walk with them. Stop. Walk back and get them to walk with you. Reward any good behavior you like.

Is your dog too excited to even walk ? Burn some of their energy first. Play fetch, tug, anything to burn some of that energy.

If your dog isn’t listening to you when you’re outside, practice walking with them on leash and what you want them to know INSIDE first !

Sometimes training on walks or outside isn’t possible until we train our dogs in a more calm less distracting environment.

It’s like asking someone to learn algebra when they don’t even know multiplication or fractions yet.

Teach your dog what you want them to know in a less distracting environment, get them to be extremely well in that environment before leveling them up in difficultly.

Solid training takes patience, consistency, and practice. Our relationship with our dog deserves clear communication, boundaries, and rules just like any other relationship you want to have. And remember to have fun and love your dog as you would want someone to love you.

August 20 2026 Thursday Social Walk

The social walks are free, we have all dogs of different training stages joining in.

Your pup gets to make new friends and learn manners, you get to talk with other dog parents in the community, stop for some training exercises and importantly have fun ! 🤩

Hello Everyone! We are happy to announce a new class that will be happening on Tuesdays @ 6pm !

The Public Manners Class will take you and your dog to six different dog friendly public places. In these places we will learn how to capture our dog's attention, communicate with, and train them. Our goal is to have fun teaching and learning how to go about public spaces with our dogs and encouraging good behavior.

How does the process work?
Send me your information to my phone number via text, I will then tell you when the class starts and share the class itinerary with you. The initinerary will have all the dates and locations of the classes.

During yesterday’s social walk, we paused to practice!
Impulse control and walking skills are some of the common skills that people want to train.
The people sitting must keep their dogs calm and focused while the people walking works on the dog’s walking skills.

Dog training requires practice and consistency. Be patient. There’s no quick fix.

Join us every Monday and Thursday at 6pm!
