Effective today, March 31, 2026, A Pawsitive Outlook Inc. Canine Sanctuary will cease operation.

We are so thankful, grateful and blessed for all the people who supported and helped us out in any way. We wouldn’t have been able to help the dogs we did over 15years without all of you.

The sweetest boy on Earth has made his way to the Rainbow Bridge. So many people worried about his potential to be mean. Those who chose to meet him were only warned to worry about their knees. He had two speeds… 0mph curled up in your lap taking in ever pet/scritch you would give him, OR 127mph coming toward you to let you know you have a new friend. The problem was, even if he had spatial awareness, he refused to believe he had brakes and he really could use them if he wanted to!!! We’ll miss you forever Goofball 🌈💙🐾💙

On Friday, our amazing boy, Sunny, made his way to the Rainbow Bridge. When he arrived here, he was full of anxiety. With lots of patience and good example from the other pooches, he learned to relax. And that he did!!!!
He was theeee BEST snuggle bug, even grabbing my arm so I wouldn’t get up! He’d flop his head down for extra snuggle and bury his head under my shoulder during storms. Closer was not possible. 💙
When GG turned 100yrs old, a big white dog was necessary to help celebrate. Sunny Bunny got the vote to go. Boy, did she enjoy it and so did he. Such a sweet visit. 💙
Along with our team of family and friends who help out, Sunny LOVES all of them, he has met a new friend. He worked long enough to finally convince him to share his hat. Boy, look at that smile! 💙
His new friend has dedicated one of his special flowers in honor/memory of our sweet boy. 💙
To all of those who helped get this boy to us, THANK YOU! We so loved and enjoyed every moment we were blessed to have with him. ❤️❤️

Roy has a new bestie!!! His new buddy took him for an amazing adventure! Trails, the beach, the lake (with an ice chunk that he sooo wanted to play with) and even got some off-leash explore and romp time!!! He was exhausted and crashed as soon as he returned home.

Today is , a reminder that knowing how to save a life—especially our furry friends—can make all the difference. While having to administer CPR to your pet can be terrifying, being prepared can help you act calmly and confidently in an emergency.

Stay Calm:
1️⃣ Breathe: Take a few deep breaths to steady yourself. Focus on the feeling of the air filling your lungs.
2️⃣ Delegate: If there are bystanders, assign them tasks like finding the nearest emergency vet.
3️⃣ Focus: Keep your mind clear. Concentrate on the steps ahead and stay in the moment.

When to Start CPR:
🐾 Your pet isn’t responding
🐾 Your pet isn’t breathing
🐾 You can’t feel a heartbeat or pulse

How to Perform CPR:
Compressions:
❤️ Position your pet on their side.
❤️ Deliver 120 compressions per minute (2 per second).
❤️ For every 30 compressions, give 2 breaths.

Breaths:
❤️ Close your pet’s mouth and seal it with your fingers.
❤️ Cover their nose with your mouth and give 2 breaths—enough to make their chest rise.
❤️ Check for a heartbeat after 2 minutes. If there’s no pulse, continue.

When to Stop CPR:
🐾 Your pet starts breathing and responding
🐾 You reach the vet clinic and they take over
🐾 You can’t continue physically
🐾 Your pet starts breathing but is still unconscious

Recovery Position:
Place your pet’s head to the side, slightly tilting down (unless there’s head trauma).

Compression Techniques:
🐶 Medium to Large Dogs: Compress one third of the chest depth.
🐱 Small Dogs/Cats: Use your thumb and fingers for compression, or compress directly over the heart.
