🐾 PROFESSIONAL PET SITTER FEATURE — MEET TANYA! 🐾

This Friday, we’re excited to introduce you to Tanya, one of our wonderful Professional Pet Sitters serving Southeast Tucson, Rita Ranch and Civano! 💙

Tanya has been an animal lover for as long as she can remember—and these days, she’ll happily tell you that she is owned by six wonderful cats! 🐱🐱🐱 (We have a feeling the cats would agree with that arrangement. 😉)

Her experience with animals goes well beyond her feline family. Growing up, Tanya cared for a variety of pets including hamsters, ferrets, fish, lizards and dogs, giving her an appreciation for animals of all shapes, sizes and species.

Tanya also brings more than seven years of experience in the pet store industry, where she gained valuable insight into the different needs of pets and the people who love them.

She believes our pets are cherished members of the family and deserve the very best care, love and attention. Whether she’s caring for a furry, scaled or finned family member, Tanya is excited to get to know each pet and help them feel safe and comfortable while their people are away.

Yesterday, our feathered friends took over Wing About Wednesday, so today we thought we’d share a little Bird 101!

Birds may be smaller than many of the pets we care for, but their needs certainly aren’t. These intelligent, social animals have their own routines, personalities and very specific ways of communicating.

🧠 Mental enrichment matters.
Birds are incredibly intelligent, and activities like toys, foraging and interaction help keep those busy brains engaged.

💙 They’re social creatures.
Many companion birds form strong bonds with their people and thrive on regular interaction and attention.

⏰ Routine is important.
Familiar feeding, sleeping and interaction schedules can help birds feel comfortable and secure—especially when their families are away.

🏡 Their environment matters.
Birds have particularly sensitive respiratory systems, which means smoke, aerosols, strong fragrances and certain household fumes can be dangerous for them.

🦜 And most importantly, every bird is an individual.
Some are outgoing. Some are cautious. Some want lots of interaction, while others prefer a little more personal space. Learning their body language, routines and comfort level is an important part of caring for them.

Great pet sitting isn’t about treating every pet the same. It’s about understanding what makes their world feel safe, familiar and comfortable—whether they have paws, hooves, scales or feathers. 💙🐾

🦜 WING ABOUT WEDNESDAY 🦜

Who says Wednesdays are only for walking? This week, we’re trading paws for feathers and introducing three very special members of the Just Four Paws family — Duncan, Pepper & Coco! 💙

🎶 Duncan, a beautiful Cockatoo, loves a good serenade. Start singing and she’ll ruffle those gorgeous feathers, bob her head and dance right along. And if you really want to win her over? A little chicken wing makes a pretty fantastic snack!

🩶 Pepper, an African Grey, has her own favorites — cucumbers, snap peas…and apparently whatever Duncan is eating. 😂 She’s been known to sneak a bite of Duncan’s chicken wing whenever the opportunity presents itself. As you can see, sometimes Duncan even shares!

🦜 And then there’s Coco, another African Grey and our little ground explorer. With her wings clipped, Coco spends plenty of time walking around announcing herself with a cheerful, “Coco, Coco, Coco!” She loves getting outside on her perch and especially enjoys a refreshing mist from the spray bottle.

Caring for birds is about so much more than filling food and water bowls. It’s learning their routines, their favorite treats, how they like to interact — and all those wonderfully quirky little things that make each one unique.

Whether they have paws, hooves, scales or feathers, we love getting to know the personalities behind every pet we care for. 💙🐾

When choosing professional pet care, knowing what you’re paying for — and what’s included — matters. At Just Four Paws, we like to keep things simple and transparent. 💙

🐾 30-Minute Visit — $30
Perfect for meals, fresh water, potty breaks, litter box care, playtime, cuddles and other routine needs.

🐾 60-Minute Visit — $44
More time for pets who need longer walks, extra companionship, additional care or simply a little more attention.

🌙 Overnight Care — $115
Your sitter arrives between 6:00–7:30 PM and leaves between 6:00–7:30 AM. Overnight care includes dinner and breakfast, playtime, cuddles and the added peace of mind of having someone in your home overnight.

🐴 Livestock Visit — $55

🚗 Pet Transportation — $80

📅 Late Booking Fee — $25

And here’s something important:

We do NOT charge per pet. 🐕🐈🐈🐕
Have a multi-pet household? Your visit rate doesn’t increase simply because there are more paws waiting at home.

💊 We also do NOT charge an additional fee for administering medications.

Holiday Care

Because holidays bring extremely high demand with limited sitter availability, a $12 surcharge per visit applies to JFP-recognized holidays. Holiday reservations are non-cancelable and non-refundable.

Recognized holidays include New Year’s Eve & Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Eve & Day.

This Friday, we’re excited to introduce you to Lei, one of our Professional Pet Sitters serving the Vail area! 💙

Lei brings both a genuine love for animals and professional animal-care experience to the JFP team. As a veterinary technician here in Tucson, she has experience caring for pets with all kinds of personalities, needs and routines—giving her an understanding of just how individual every pet can be.

At home, Lei has two special companions of her own: a sweet 17-year-old kitty and a little dwarf hamster who keep her on her toes! 🐱🐹

Her work in veterinary medicine has also taught her the importance of patience, careful attention and earning an animal’s trust. Whether a pet has a particular routine, needs a little extra TLC, or simply wants plenty of love and companionship while their family is away, Lei is committed to making them feel safe and comfortable in their own home.

Lei understands how much trust it takes to place your furry family members in someone else’s care, and she strives to give every pet the same love, patience and attention she gives her own.

Good communication is an important part of great pet care—and we want to make reaching Just Four Paws as easy as possible.

New or prospective clients can reach our office by phone, email or through our website. Once you become part of the JFP family, our client app becomes your go-to place for scheduling visits, sending messages and keeping your pet-care information together in one convenient place.

Keeping communication within these channels helps our office stay organized and ensures important messages, scheduling requests and pet-care information get to the right person.

One little housekeeping note: JFP no longer accepts text messages. If you need us, we’re still easy to reach—we’ve just moved communication to the places where our team can best keep track of it. 💙🐾

🐴 Walk About Wednesday — Come Along on a Horse Visit! 💙🐾

A routine horse visit involves a whole lot more than filling a feed bucket!

When our sitter arrives at the barn, one of her first greetings comes from little Flirty. She calls his name, his head pops out of the stall and he’s usually ready with a whinny to say hello. 🥰

Then it’s time for a thorough once-over — checking him from head to hoof for any cuts, bumps or anything else that doesn’t look quite right.

Of course, Flirty believes treats are an essential part of this process. 😂

Depending on the horse and their individual care plan, a visit may include:

🐴 Fly spray and hoof picking
🌾 Hay, alfalfa or a specialized diet
💧 Cleaning and refilling water buckets or troughs
🧹 Mucking stalls
🚶 A walk around the ranch
💦 A good hose-down or bath
🌿 Turnout time to graze, stretch and enjoy being a horse

And after getting nice and clean?

Flirty heads straight for the dirt and has himself a good roll. 🤦‍♀️😂

It might look like he’s undoing all that hard work, but rolling is completely natural horse behavior — and that fresh coating of dirt can even help give him some protection from those pesky flies.

That’s what individualized pet care looks like. Whether they have four paws or four hooves, knowing their routine, noticing the little things and keeping them comfortable while their family is away matters.

🐴💙 Did you know Just Four Paws cares for horses, too?

We’ve been having a little fun lately introducing you to some of the many different animals that make up the JFP family—and today, we’re trading paws and little bunny ears for hooves! 🐾➡️🐴

Meet Flirty, Norman, Buckshot & Sedona, a beautiful herd of four with four VERY different personalities. ❤️

👑 Flirty is a red Quarter Horse and a typical mare—she knows exactly what she wants, and somehow she usually gets it!

⚽ Norman, a buckskin Quarter Horse/Appaloosa, is the baby of the family. He has the sweetest personality, loves his ball, and keeps the older horses on their hooves with his playful antics.

🥣 Buckshot is their beautiful black-and-white spotted Appaloosa. He may not be the alpha of the herd, but don’t tell him that at mealtime—somehow Buckshot is always first in line for his grain! 😂

💕 And then there’s Sedona, a beautiful Appaloosa. She may be last in the pecking order, but this sweet, gentle girl knows when it’s her turn and patiently waits.

Different personalities. Different needs. Different routines.

And that’s one of the things we love most about what we do. Whether our clients have paws, feathers, scales, bunny ears—or four very big hooves—getting to know who they are is part of providing The Care Your Pets Deserve. 💙🐾
