There’s Still Time to Join the Haunting! 🎃

Three weeks until the **CNDC Halloween Dressage Derby 3*** Show**, October 31-November 1!

This USEF licensed and USDF recognized show will be judged by **Jaki Hardy (S)** and **Anne Howard (R)** and is a qualifier for the **2027 Great American/USDF Regional Championships**.

It’s also one of your last opportunities to show the current national tests before the new tests arrive December 1.

Once Saturday’s official competition wraps up, Halloween takes over. Our costume classes return, including the walk-only class and Costume Dressage, and the spectators get to score the rides from their phones. 👻

If Halloween dressage sounds like your kind of weekend, entries are open through FoxVillage.

CDS Junior/ Young Rider Clinic this weekend and we represented by two CNDC juniors!

Dominic and Lily enjoyed a wonderful theory session with W***y Arts last night at PEC! ✨ Dominic is riding our homebred Fürst Felix and Lily is riding CNDC’s Stallion Velantis for the first time publicly.

Both horses settled in and schooled beautifully and they’re excited to get started with their first lessons this morning. What a great way to kick off the CDS Jr/YR clinic experience! 🐴💙

Submit Your Entries, Mortals! 👻

The **CNDC Halloween Dressage Derby 3*** Show** is coming up October 31-November 1, and entries are open now through FoxVillage.

We’re very pleased to welcome **Jaki Hardy (S)** and **Anne Howard (R)** to judge our USEF licensed and USDF recognized weekend.

For anyone already looking ahead to next year, this show counts toward the **2027 Great American/USDF Regional Championship qualifying season**, so it’s an opportunity to get an early qualifying score before winter.

It’s also one of the final chances to ride the current national tests before they change December 1.

And yes, Halloween costumes and spectator scoring will be back Saturday after the recognized competition. 🎃

Enter If You Dare… Halloween Derby Entries Are Open! 🎃

Entries are officially open for the **CNDC Halloween Dressage Derby 3*** Show**, October 31-November 1!

Our USEF licensed and USDF recognized show weekend will be judged by **Jaki Hardy (S)** and **Anne Howard (R)**, and this show is also part of the **2027 qualifying season**. It’s a great chance to start working on those 2027 Regional Championship qualifying scores!

It will also be one of the last opportunities to ride the current national tests before the new tests take effect December 1.

And because it’s Halloween at CNDC, Saturday doesn’t end when the recognized classes do. We’ll have our costume classes with spectator scoring after the official competition. 👻

Entries close **October 20** and are available through FoxVillage.

Bet you didn’t know who was behind 8 top-three placings at last weekend’s CDS Annual Show & USDF Region 7 Championships!

Our homebred broodmare Dynamica, by Donnerschlag, was represented by three of her offspring, and between them, they brought home four 🏆🏆🏆🏆 Championship titles, one second place, and three third places!

Ravenna N (2012, by Rubino Bellissimo), ridden by Ari Lopez in the Open division, won the CDS Grand Prix Horse of the Year Open Championship. The pair also finished third in the Great American/USDF Grand Prix Open Freestyle Regional Championship and third in the CDS HOY Grand Prix Freestyle Open.

Don Amour N (2014, by Don Frederick), ridden by Susan Walker in the Adult Amateur division, won the CDS Intermédiaire II HOY A/A Championship and placed third in the Great American/USDF Adult Amateur Intermédiaire II Regional Championship.

And Fürst Felix N (2017, by Fürstenball), ridden by Lily Ramirez in the Junior division, won both the CDS Third Level Jr/YR Championship and the USDF Region 7 Third Level Jr/YR Championship, and also earned second place in the CDS HOY Third Level Freestyle. We’re especially proud of Lily, who trained Felix up through the levels herself as a young teenager.

What stands out most is the versatility of Dynamica’s lineage. At the same Championship weekend, her offspring were successful in the Jr/YR, Adult Amateur, and Open divisions, proving suitable for junior riders, amateurs, and professionals alike.

Christiane bred Dynamica herself, and over the years she has given us nine foals. It has been wonderful to watch so many of them grow up, develop, and go on to successful sport careers with different riders. Dynamica’s story at CNDC is still continuing. We currently have a 2-year-old gelding by Velantis N, as well as two of her offspring under saddle, available for sale.

🏆 Five years. Five levels. Every Championship class won. 🏆

What a weekend for Velantis N at the 2026 CDS State Championships & USDF Region 7 Championships.

Now competing at Fourth Level, Velantis won all four of his Championship classes:

✨ CDS Open Fourth Level Champion
✨ USDF Region 7 Open Fourth Level Champion
✨ CDS Fourth Level Freestyle Champion
✨ USDF Region 7 Fourth Level Freestyle Champion

He was also named the overall CDS Horse of the Year Lower-Level Freestyle Winner and CDS Grand Champion for Third/Fourth Level, the same two overall awards he earned in 2025 while competing at Third Level.

What makes this especially meaningful to us is the journey behind it.

Velantis made his Championship debut as a 4-year-old in 2022, winning both the CDS and USDF Region 7 Training Level Championships. Since then, he has moved up one level each year, winning each and every Championship class he participated in.

2022 — Training Level
CDS Champion & USDF Region 7 Champion

2023 — First Level
CDS Champion & USDF Region 7 Champion

2024 — Second Level
CDS Champion & USDF Region 7 Champion, along with the CDS Young Horse 6-Year-Old Futurity title

2025 — Third Level
CDS Champion, CDS Freestyle Champion, USDF Region 7 Champion and USDF Region 7 Freestyle Champion, plus the overall CDS Lower-Level Freestyle and Third/Fourth Level Grand Champion awards

2026 — Fourth Level
Once again, a clean sweep of his Championship classes.

From Training Level through Fourth Level, Velantis has now won every CDS and USDF Region 7 Championship class he has entered over five consecutive years.

For a horse bred here at CNDC, developed here from the beginning, and now continuing his progression through the levels, that is something we are incredibly proud of.

🏆 What a weekend for Team CNDC at the CDS State Championships & USDF Region 7 Championships! 🏆

Across the weekend, Team CNDC brought home an incredible 8 Championship titles and Grand Champion awards, along with 2 Reserve Championship titles. We are so proud of every horse and rider who represented CNDC — from our junior riders and lesson horses to young horses bred and developed here at home.

Lilian Ramirez, who recently took on the role of CDS Junior Representative for Northern California, showed Fuerst Felix N at Third Level and had an outstanding weekend. Lily won both the CDS Third Level Jr/YR Championship and the USDF Region 7 Third Level Jr/YR Championship, and also earned a 2nd-place finish in the Third Level Freestyle. We are incredibly proud of Lily, especially because she has trained and developed Felix herself through the levels. In the USEF Dressage Seat Equitation class, Lily also earned an impressive 82%!

At First Level, Seraphina Allen showed her pony Coelenhage Parco and brought home two 5th-place finishes during the weekend.

Elysia Camarena also competed at First Level aboard CNDC’s own Goliath, who many of our younger riders know as one of our lesson ponies. Elysia earned a 4th-place finish and also scored 71% in Dressage Seat Equitation.

At Training Level, Dominic Alcantar partnered with CNDC lesson pony Bugs Bunny, earning a score as high as 65.4%, a 5th-place finish, and an excellent 73% in Dressage Seat Equitation.

Loren Truong Elliott rode Telanau Chocolate Kiss, another CNDC lesson horse, to a 6th-place finish at Training Level. Loren did a fantastic job throughout the weekend!

One of the highlights of the weekend for us was the USEF Dressage Seat Equitation competition. All five of our CNDC juniors advanced to the final round, meaning 5 of the 10 finalists in the 14–18 year-old division were CNDC riders! That was pretty special to see.

CNDC was also represented by Mathilde Baylac, who rode Mimi Zobairi’s 5-year-old P.R.E. mare, Asteria de Mythos, at her first Championship appearance. Their weekend was highlighted by a 71.5% in the USDF Materiale class. Mimi purchased Asteria as a foal, and she grew up and was started here at CNDC, making it especially rewarding to see her competing at the Championships.

Christian Hartung competed aboard CNDC homebred Vinicius N, the full brother to our licensed and approved Hanoverian stallion Velantis N. This was the promising 4-year-old gelding’s first Championship appearance, and he rose to the occasion with a 71.2% and 2nd place in a very competitive Training Level Open class.

From our junior riders and trusted lesson ponies to young horses bred and developed here at CNDC, it was a weekend that represented so much of what we love about our program.

✨Success for Velantis N babies! ✨

This gorgeous girl, Wonder Woman MW (Velantis N × Coco Chanel/Rousseau), earned 🥇 1st Premium at her KWPN inspection — the highest premium designation a KWPN foal can achieve! Congrats to owner Lauren Winfield!

And earlier this month, our own Voltaris N (Velantis N × Ampere) was awarded an AHS Gold Medal at his American Hanoverian Society inspection — the highest foal award given by the AHS! 🥇🏆

We couldn’t be more excited and proud of these two babies and their incredible sire, Velantis N!

And we’re even more excited for next week’s foal inspection here at CNDC, where two more of Velantis N’s offspring will be presented!

Just five days until inspection day!

On September 15, we’ll welcome the American Hanoverian Society back to CNDC for the final mare and foal inspection in California this year.

We’re looking forward to presenting two of our Velantis N colts and seeing this year’s group of mares and foals.

Registration is still open, and spectators are always welcome. No RSVP is needed.

We hope to see some familiar faces!
