Wengerd Sport Horses Rachel has been riding horses since she could walk. Malt and Rachel also began a career in eventing together when Rachel was twelve years old.

She grew up at Knightwynds Welsh Cobs where she got to enjoy riding everyday as well as playing with the foals and learning how to handle everything from newborn foals to the breeding stallion. Rachel has achieved her C-2 and H-B pony club ratings with the help of her two welsh cobs, Crossroads Rose and Knightwynds Single Malt. The pair quickly fell in love with eventing and over the years have made it to the training level with very limited training and funds. She is currently training with Lainey Asker, Francesca Nicoletti, and Noel Williams. Who have all helped Rachel tremendously these past few years. Rachel hopes to do her first one star in 2013. She also enjoys working with younger pony club members and anyone who wants to begin riding or move up the lower levels. She hopes to begin obtaining her ICP in the USEA. Rachel also enjoys breaking young or inexperienced horses to ride. As well as riding Rachel has grown to enjoy combined driving, and works as a navigator and groom. Her family has taught her a lot about driving horses and she has spent some time breaking a few driving horses and puts mileage on green driving horses.

USDF Dressage Sport Horse Breeder of the Year 6th place in 2026! Truly excited for this achievement and how well my young horses did this year! It’s always a joy to watch the babies I dream of become a reality and then to watch them grow and develop!

Just a few more points to pick up and hopefully next year I will achieve my USDF Silver Breeder Medal!

This mare is just so much fun. I bought her with every intention to breed her this year but with a missed heat cycle and then being later in the year I decided I would wait till 2027 to breed her.

So why not see how she is as a riding horse lol. Turns out she’s awesome and now I’m hooked! 12 rides in I decided to take her to a clinic with Klaus Schengber at Roaring Run Equestrian Center and she was a complete rockstar.

Lots of good knowledge to bring back home and spend the winter working on. Who knows you might see this pretty girl in the show ring next year!

True Gold GS owned by Kelsey Kanoff-Lara and Megan Silvia got to play western pony today and hit the trails and he absolutely loved it. Might have been cold, windy and rainy but he was absolutely perfect! No lunging and this 3 yo gelding walked through the woods on a loose rein like a seasoned pro!

It’s that time of year when the baby horses get to take a step back and enjoy some cross training and get out of the arena as much as possible!

3 yo stallion Top Gun RCL has been loving the trails and continues to gain confidence with each ride! I decided to switch it up and threw him in a western saddle for the first time and even took him out on the trails in a bosal! He did not disappoint. So relaxed and rideable!

Even with deer running out in front of us multiple times he never put a foot wrong. Pretty sure his favorite part was getting to just gallop through the woods!

Getting out of the arena truly is the best thing for these baby horses minds and bodies!

Knightwynds Chiron our lovely 2 year old section D Welsh Cob stallion was a rockstar at Dressage at Devon he truly has the best brain. He is by MHS Cool Jazz and out of Knightwynds Model T (Knightwynds Topaz).

I am so excited to continue producing this lovely young stallion and while he will be starting under saddle in 2027 I have decided I will also offer him to a limited number of mares in 2027 as well!

Thank you Bethany P Photography for the lovely photos!

Knightwynds Chiron our two year old welsh cob stallion is getting all grown up. Decided to pull him out and play around a bit this fall. Keeping everything light and positive as he is still just a baby but he loves to get to do things. Today he wore his first saddle and walked and trotted around lightly on the lunge like a seasoned pro! Might catch me on a pony in the 3 yo materiale next year!

Vibrance WSH (V-Power x Bretton Woods) my yearling KWPN filly got to go to Devon this year! The atmosphere proved to be a lot for her but I’m glad she got to go on a few field trips this year and see the world.

The breed shows truly give these baby horses some very valuable life experience before they start under saddle and have to go behave as riding horses.

This filly is definitely always going to be spicy but she has such a bright future!

Thank you Bethany P Photography for capturing some super moments even if she spent more time showing off her acrobatics! 😂
