I had 2 clients today. First was Dolly. Dolly's training had kind of stalled. So, we sat down today, regrouped and came up with a new training plan. While we were doing that we let Dolly and Dakota wear each other out lol. We need tobdo leash work with Dolly, but there were some complications to it. So, we sat down and came up with a game plan to get it done. I also saw Maggie and Walter today. On leash separately they do great. Together, they're a nightmare. I'm a glutton for punishment. So, we did leash work with them together today. It started out rough. But, by the end of the walk they were both doing much better. Next week we're going to be working Maggie with some baby chicks. (And, with owner permission, introducing Dakota to baby chicks.)

Today I had 1 client, Louis. Louis had a bad habit of hu***ng things, namely pillows and other dogs. Today we worked on that. Louis wouldn't take the bait with my couch pillows. So, we offered him something he couldn't pass up, Dakota. They got wrestling (he met his match lol) and it didn't take long for the excitement to overwhelm him. We were able to correct the behavior as well as show his owner how to correct it. Now, for education, hu***ng is not always s*xual in dogs. It can also be dominance or , most often, over excitement. Basically they get over excited, then frustrated and resort to hu***ng ad an outlet. So, it's often seen in friendly dogs. That does not mean that it should be allowed to happen, though, as it ticks off the dog on the receiving end.

My gorgeous white puppy has purple stripes!! I have a beautiful Redbud tree in my backyard. Growing right up through the middle of it is my arch nemesis, the Mulberry tree. This thing grows berries like it's trying to end world hunger. And nothing eats them! Not even the birds or squirrels will eat them. So, every year I have a carpet of berries surrounding the tree. Well, Dakota likes to lay on the ground and flop around like a dying fish. Normally she does this in the grass in the middle of the yard, so, ok, you do you puppy. Today she decided to do it on the berries!! So, now my white puppy has purple stripes. I hate that tree.

When Mom won't set up the pool, you make do with the water dish.

Everyone, at some point in time, has had that "one" supervisor. You know the type. Always on your back, always checking your work, never satisfied. Yeah, that one. I currently have one. I had to clock in and do some landscaping maintenance (w**ding). My supervisor just would not leave me alone! She was in my face (sometimes literally), demanding to check every step of my work, even inspecting the contents of my w**d bucket. She even tried to take the w**ds out of my hand for closer inspection! They're just w**ds, not anything that exciting! You would have thought I was mining gold and not just pulling w**ds. I tried to politely let her know that I didn't need her there and suggested she go check other areas of the yard. Nope! She would not budge. Admittedly I wasn't very productive with her in my way and all. After I was done and we came back inside, she had the nerve to go take a nap in her private break room like she had done all the work. Hopefully next time she won't feel the need to supervise so closely. Pic of my supervisor in her private break room.

Today I had 1 client, Enzo. This is the 5th session with him. Enzo is wary around strangers. He's also reactive to other dogs, kids and people on walks. So, first session we were making friends. Second session I evaluated his leash skills. Third and fourth session were spent working on basic obedience and head halter training. Today, the slow and steady paid off. We took Enzo for a walk. We passed several triggers with no reaction from Enzo! A few more walks like this and Enzo will be walking like a pro!

Whelp, no clients today. I have some kind of water leak in my front yard. I'm waiting on the water company to come out and check it out. Another gorgeous day wasted with no leash work. Oh well, at least I got the yard mowed this morning. Here's a cute Pic of a sleepy puppy for your eyeball enjoyment.
