Looks like our Wausau crew picked up a new installer this morning. 🦃

Caught this guy checking out the back of the Sure-Dry truck while Brandon was already inside, ready to get the day started.

No tools. No work boots. No experience.

But he showed up early, wasn’t afraid to hop on the truck, and seemed pretty interested in what the Wausau crew was up to.

We’re not sure he’ll make it through orientation, but Brandon may have a new helper riding along today.

After a long dry stretch, we’ve finally seen some much-needed rain across much of Wisconsin.

And your basement waterproofing system may finally be getting a workout again!

This is a great time to make sure everything is doing what it was designed to do. At Sure-Dry, we recommend having applicable systems professionally maintained once a year. Think of it like routine maintenance for your furnace or vehicle — you want to know everything is ready BEFORE you really need it.

Depending on your Sure-Dry system, annual maintenance can include:

• Cycling and water-testing your sump pump
• Cleaning sediment and silt from the sump liner
• Testing and flushing the WaterGuard® drainage system when needed
• Checking discharge lines
• Inspecting foundation walls and grading
• Checking dehumidification equipment
• Inspecting crawl space and floor stabilization systems

Some foundation problems don’t start with a dramatic failure. They start with little changes around your home that are easy to overlook.

Here are three signs that may mean it’s time to have your foundation inspected:

• Stair-step cracks in brick or block walls
• Cracks developing in interior drywall
• A chimney beginning to pull away or separate from the house

One crack doesn’t automatically mean you have a serious foundation problem. But when cracks continue to grow, new ones appear, or different symptoms start showing up around the home, it’s worth finding out what’s causing the movement.

Foundation settlement can happen gradually, and catching the signs early gives you a better opportunity to understand the problem before it progresses.

Sometimes a concrete lift needs a little extra help.

This driveway had settled significantly, and getting the slab back where it belonged required more than just PolyLevel®.

See that yellow tool in the photo? It’s anchored directly to the concrete and works a lot like the jack on a trailer. It allows our crew to carefully lift and position the slab, giving us more control when dealing with severe settlement.

Once we have the concrete positioned where we want it, we use PolyLevel® beneath the slab to fill the voids, stabilize the concrete and complete the lift.

It’s a good example of why concrete repair isn’t always as simple as injecting material underneath a slab. Sometimes getting the job done right means using the right combination of tools, techniques and experience.

We’re a little late celebrating our August work anniversaries… but we have a pretty good excuse!

After the tornado, our building was without power for quite a while. We recently got the lights back on and can finally access everything again — so now it’s time to do a little catching up!

We definitely didn’t want August to get away from us without recognizing the awesome members of our Sure-Dry team celebrating another year with us.

Thank you for everything you bring to Sure-Dry — your hard work, experience, dedication, and the part each of you plays in taking care of our customers and supporting your teammates.

It’s certainly been an August we won’t forget, and we’re incredibly grateful for the team that has continued to keep things moving forward through it all.

Sometimes someone else’s words say it better than we could.

Nearly 3 inches. That’s how far this concrete patio had settled.

This before-and-after shows what can be possible when the concrete itself is still in good condition but the soil underneath has allowed the slab to sink.

Our team used PolyLevel® to carefully lift and level the patio, achieving nearly 3 inches of lift in the problem area. Once the slabs were back where they belonged, NexusPro® was used to seal the cracks and joints to help keep water from getting beneath the concrete and contributing to future settlement.

Instead of tearing out a usable patio and starting over, we were able to lift the existing concrete and give this backyard space a much-needed reset.
