Meet Maison Guerra!
She sent this note of thanks to share-
“I recently graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science and a minor in Psychology. Earning this degree required years of dedication, perseverance, and hard work, but I did not achieve it alone. The educational assistance provided by the Tribe helped me focus on my studies and pursue opportunities that prepared me for a successful career in healthcare. With the Tribe's help, I was able to graduate in 3 years with the assistance I received during high school as a concurrent student of the Higher Education Program.
In addition to supporting my academic journey, the Tribe also provided funding that allowed me to complete a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative certification. This opportunity expanded my knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, strengthened my professional skills, and gave me valuable insight into healthcare sales and patient-focused solutions. The certification helped me gain confidence and better prepare for entering the workforce after graduation.
Today, I am proud to have begun my career as a Pharmacy Sales Representative with DFW Wellness Pharmacy. In this role, I work to build relationships with healthcare providers, educate customers about pharmacy services, and help connect patients with resources that can improve their quality of life. My education and professional training have given me a strong foundation to succeed, and I am excited about the opportunities ahead.
To other tribal members pursuing their educational goals, I encourage you to take advantage of every opportunity available to you. Success is built through persistence, hard work, and a willingness to keep moving forward even when challenges arise. The support provided by the Tribe can open doors, but it is your determination and commitment that will carry you through them. Believe in yourself, ask questions, seek mentorship, and never be afraid to pursue goals that seem ambitious.
I am incredibly grateful to Chief Batton, the Tribal Council, and everyone involved in supporting educational and professional development programs. Your investment in tribal members creates opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom. Because of your support, I was able to earn my degree, obtain professional certification, and begin a career that I am passionate about. Thank you for believing in the future of tribal citizens and helping make achievements like mine possible.”
Congratulations on your accomplishments Maison! We see great things ahead for you!

We LOVE seeing the success of our clients! Congrats to you Peggy!

Peggy Sue Robinson Lukas’s educational journey is a powerful example of perseverance, determination, and the courage to pursue dreams at any stage of life. Peggy began college in 1990, but like many students, life presented challenges that led her to pause her education. Years later, carrying a lingering sense of unfinished goals, Peggy realized she still deeply wanted to complete what she had started—but was unsure if it was possible.
With the support of the Choctaw Nation Higher Education Program and Career Development, along with encouragement from family and friends, Peggy made the decision to return to school. Although balancing life’s responsibilities with coursework brought its own challenges—especially through online classes—Peggy remained committed to her goal.
At the age of 67, Peggy proudly earned her degree in Physical Education and Recreation, proving that determination has no age limit.
Peggy hopes to bring her knowledge and experience back to the Choctaw Nation community, helping others—especially elders—lead healthier, happier lives. Peggy lives by the belief: “Dreams never expire.”
Peggy expresses deep gratitude to everyone who supported Peggy’s journey: “I want to thank everyone that made my dream come true.”
The Choctaw Nation Higher Education program celebrates Peggy Sue Robinson Lukas as an inspiring role model for lifelong learning and resilience.🎉🎉

Congratulations to Madisson Ludlow! She sent us these words to share about her journey to graduation.
"Halito! My name is Madisson Ludlow, and I am from Talihina, OK. I was honored to graduate as Valedictorian of my high school class, which opened the door for me to attend college debt-free through scholarships and grants.

I recently earned my Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from East Central University. The Choctaw Nation, specifically programs such as Career Development, has been a major financial contributor to my success. In addition, my counselor, Mrs. Alicia Herell, has been a leading mentor of mine. Before Career Development, Mrs. Herell was my teacher in middle and high school, and I am grateful for her support and encouragement throughout my journey.

My goal is to use the knowledge and experience gained throughout my educational journey to make a positive difference in the lives of the Chahta people. I am excited for this next chapter in my life, and I am ready to do the hard job… the job that requires patience, compassion, and empathy. Serving and advocating for the Chahta people has always been my calling.

My advice to future college students is this: keep going. There will be stressful days, setbacks, and moments when you want to give up, but do not quit. Every challenge will be worth it the moment you walk across that stage and realize you accomplished something that once felt impossible. And… never be afraid to ask for help!"
We are so excited for your future Maddisson!

Introducing Brittney Gardner! She sent her career counselor Sherlynn Kennedy this note-"My college journey has been a time of growth, resilience, and discovery. I began my nursing career by earning my Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in 2013, which laid the foundation for my passion for patient care and lifelong learning. Since then, I have continued my education and am now a graduate with my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) transitioning from Registered Nurse (RN) to Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Through academic challenges, clinical experiences, and meaningful connections, I have grown both personally and professionally. I am excited to use my education and skills to serve my local community, provide compassionate care, and make a positive impact in the lives of others.

As I begin this next chapter, I will be working as a primary care provider (P*P) in Oregon with Adapt Integrated Health Care. I am excited for the opportunity to serve my local community by providing compassionate, patient-centered care and helping improve the overall health and well-being of those around me."
Congrats to you for your hard work and accomplishments! We see great things ahead for you!

Join us in wishing Tim Amos an spectacular birthday! Here are some things that his coworkers have to share about Tim.
Tim- In simple terms, the world is a better place because Tim and I are eternally thankful for this day. He embodies a life of service and is always looking for others.

Tim is highly dependable, caring, and consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic. He values his family and friends, always willing to support them in any way he can. Tim is passionate about sports and especially enjoys playing golf. I appreciate our conversations about local teams, which highlight his community spirit. Tim is a loyal friend and an asset to the Career Development team.

Tim—You’re the true gentleman of our Career Development family! You’re always the first to offer a hand, whether it’s carrying boxes to our cars or stepping in wherever needed. Your chivalry really stands out. I’m so glad we get to work together—and you’ve got a pretty great sense of humor too 😊

Happy Birthday Tim! You are always willing to help anyone. You step up and help without being asked. You make sure your clients are taken care of. Thank you for all you do.

Tim is one of the kindest, most helpful people I know! He has a quiet strength that you can count on. I count him as a friend!

Tim is the BEST guy. He has a servant's heart and is genuine. Whenever our team meets at a location unfamiliar to me, I always look for him when I arrive. He is there to greet, direct, and offer assistance. He clearly cares for others. Wishing much happiness to Tim, he deserves it!

Tim is Career Development’s biggest cheerleader, even on a personal level. He asks about updates on ball games and family, and genuinely cares about each person in this department. He is also one of the most dependable people I know and always willing to help where he can!

Tim is a kind, caring, and supportive person; anytime someone needs help, he is the first to volunteer. He also has a great sense of humor.

Tim, you always bring such a positive attitude to everything you do. Your kindness and willingness to help does not go unnoticed.
