A chance meeting in the grocery aisle changed everything for local resident Tom.

After a recent medical emergency, Tom was caring for nearly 20 community cats in his yard but lacked the financial and physical means to manage the colony. Thanks to grant funding from our sister organization Georgia Pet Foundation, Whiskers-n-Paws stepped in to trap, neuter, and return 14 cats in just two days!

Preventative spay/neuter brings peace of mind to both caregivers and communities.

Did you know? A single pair of unneutered cats and their offspring can produce hundreds of kittens in just a few years.

In Georgia, community cats often produce 2 to 3 litters per year. Through a grant provided by our sister organization, the GA Pet Foundation, we are helping fund targeted TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) programs like Whiskers-n-Paws’ "Snip, Snip Hooray!" initiative to stop overpopulation before it starts.

Prevention is the key to keeping healthy animals out of overcrowded shelters.

43 community cats trapped, neutered, and returned! 🐾✨

Thanks to a $2,500 grant our sister organization Georgia Pet Foundation, awarded to our partners at Whiskers-n-Paws, 43 community cats in Coweta County received:
💉 Spay/neuter surgeries
🛡️ Rabies & FVRCP vaccinations
✂️ Ear-tips

The impact? This single project prevented over 215 unwanted kittens from entering local shelters this season. Spay and neuter works!

In the suffocating heat of a Georgia July, nine tiny lives were packed into a single metal storage bin and left on the side of the road. Nine warm, breathing bodies huddled together on top of one another, abandoned before they even had the chance to understand the world around them.

It is a image that breaks your heart - but more than that, it is a picture of a crisis that was 100% preventable.

These nine puppies did not need to suffer in that heat. They did not need to be dumped like trash. In fact, they did not need to be born at all.

Spaying and neutering is the single most effective, humane tool we have to stop the cycle of abandonment. One unspayed female dog and her offspring can produce tens of thousands of puppies in just a few years. When pet owners fix their animals, they actively prevent the next bin of abandoned puppies from ever happening in the first place.

These nine puppies deserved better than a plastic tub on a humid July morning. But until spay and neuter becomes the standard for every pet owner in our state, the pipeline will remain clogged, and stories like this will keep repeating.

Together, we can change the story before it even begins. Spay. Neuter. Prevent.
