Thank goodness for The Paw Project, so many cats have been saved from this barbaric cruel savage act on cats who were healthy until a declaw vet got their evil hands on them.

The Rhode Island Anti-Declaw Bills have passed BOTH chambers of the state legislature. When each chamber approves the other's bill, the process will be complete. In RI, the bills will become law unless vetoed by the governor. Thanks, Senator Melissa Murray and Rep. Bill O'Brien!

This is sad. The vet who declawed her is an animal abuser.

Meet Frankie!! She is fully vetted, approximately 3 years old, spayed, with current rabies vaccination. This girl was abandoned at our shelter in a net type playpen in the rain, terrified and soaking wet. She has been declawed by her previous owner. She’s been with us for a month now. Due to her being declawed we cannot release her in the cat house with all the others. She needs a special home with someone who can take great care of her especially with her being declawed. I wish vets stop deceiving pet parents, a declaw veterinarian is a monster in human form.

My parents had Lulu declawed when we first got her. They both had cats growing up and knew what declawing was and didn’t like it. They were told by one vet that there was a declawing procedure that was not so invasive. I guess my parents misunderstood because the vet did declaw her the normal way(only front paws). Since that happened, she hasn’t really gotten back to how she was as a baby. To be fair, Lulu was deathly sick when we got her, like on deaths door, so that might have added to the cuddling. But she didn’t trust for a long time and she still shakes her front paws sometimes. She’s not as playful. She definitely trusts us at least a bit and tolerates us, but sometimes I wonder if Lulu would have been much different if she was never declawed. She also has anxiety issues that cause her to lick herself bald in some spots. Shes on meds for that, so no need to worry. But I wonder if that was from declawing trauma. Shes still very loved and taken care of, regardless of how much she loves us. My parents do regret it greatly and wish that they never did it btw.

Cesar
10 yr old 4 paw declawed neutered male.

Cesar came to us as an owner surrender when he started peeing outside the litter box after they acquired more animals. We have taken him to the vets to make sure he didnt have a urinary tract infection or stones. It appers Cesar just has a nervous bladder and urinates outside the litter box when switched into a new environment(when we switched him to a new location in the shelter he only urinated twice outside the litter box before he settled in) or there is alot of loud commotion happening around him. Due to this Cesar needs a quiet home where he will be the only pet. He is a very sweet boy who loves pets, still likes to play, and has the cutest squeaky meow that makes him still sound like a kitten. Cesar also enjoys to be held and get kisses when he is comfortable with you, loves treats, and a comfy cat bed! We know Cesar requires someone patient and understanding with his nervous urination issue, but we also know there are many great people out there that may just be his perfect match!

How can a Chief Veterinary Officer say declawing is inhumane, yet, still allows their veterinarians to declaw? Snakes speak with forked tongues, just saying...

THIS IS SO VERY WRONG FOLKS!!!!!!!! 😾😾😾

We have 100% PROOF* that National Veterinary Associates (NVA.com) Medical Advisory Board AND their Chief Veterinary Officer, Dr Sandra Faeh, consider declawing INHUMANE but they are still going to allow it in their vet clinics. 😾
(Dr Sandra Faeh is also the AVMA’s President.)

We helped NVA for 4 months with their NEW declawing position, they sent us a draft of the position which said their Medical Advisory Board considers declawing inhumane, but in the declawing position they posted on their website, they took the INHUMANE word OUT.

Also, NVA quietly posted it, without any announcement, on their website. 😾😾😾😾😾
