Paws4Survival Rescue Inc. Paws4Survival Rescue Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of Puerto Rico street dogs.

Paws4Survival is a nonprofit (501c3) organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of Puerto Rico street dogs. We provide veterinary care, shelter, and socialization in a daycare facility to prepare these dogs for adoption in the New York and New England area. Our strategic plan focuses on the town of Arroyo in the Southeastern part of the island, however we always help with pleas from l

ocal rescuers. Within Arroyo, there are two beach areas, Playa Chiropolis and Malecon in which we work to keep the dogs safe from animal control. Our volunteers provide basic shelter, food and water and care is provided until an opening in our program is available. Dogs that are not candidates for our program are captured for spay/neuter and returned to the beach to live under our care.

Helena was the final puppy of her litter waiting, and waiting, and waiting for her family. A true Cinderella story, she just needed her moment. Along the way, she moved through multiple foster homes, still searching for where she truly belonged.

Then everything came full circle.

Kerri and her son Kingston, who adopted Oscar back in April, came back into the picture. In a twist of fate, Helena ended up in the very same foster home Oscar once was. And the moment Kerri saw her, she felt it all over again, this was meant to be.

Now Helena is finally home. She’s living her best life with long walks and outdoor adventures alongside Oscar, and cozy moments inside with her sister Sunny.

Proof that the best happy endings are always worth the wait, and sometimes, everything really does come full circle. 💖

The pack is complete! 🐾🎉

We have the absolute happiest update: FREDERICK HAS BEEN ADOPTED!

As the last of his 7-pup litter to head home, he truly saved the best celebration for last. Watching all 7 of these incredible puppies find their forever families has been nothing short of magical, and we could not be happier for Frederick and his new humans.

Thank you to everyone who shared his post, rooted for him, and helped this entire litter find their happy endings. Happy tails, sweet boy! 🧡

Rosie is 5 years old and an amazingly sweet, perceptive dog. She is deeply tuned in to human emotions, bonds like glue once comfortable, and thrives on dedicated attention.

Here are a few key details about Rosie to help find her ideal match:

Energy & Activities: She is extremely active and loves to run. She would flourish with an active owner or in structured activities like agility and herding exercises.

Other Dogs: She can do well with one or two dogs her own size after a slow, gradual introduction. She gets easily overstimulated by packs or large groups, so a low-key environment is best.

Prey Drive & Small Animals: Due to her herding instincts and strong drive when seeing squirrels, she should not be placed with cats or small dogs.

Rosie needs a foster home immediately!

Requirements: No cats, no small dogs (under 30 lbs). She can co-exist with dogs over 30 lbs following a proper, slow integration.

Sheriff was found in a hoarding case early May in Northern Texas. No one came to adopt him at the Humane Society of Northern Texas. We immediately saw this 140 pound gentle giant and he became the 93,000 pet Wings of Rescue® transported to safety.

Today Sheriff of Nottingham was officially adopted.

Eleven years ago, most of you fell in love with our work rescuing dogs on the streets of Puerto Rico.

Over the years—especially post-COVID—our focus shifted a bit. But we’ve officially decided that Puerto Rico is where our hearts belong, and we’re already eyeing a few land properties on the island! 🇵🇷❤️

Meet Arena. She comes from Piñones, an area we spent a lot of time in during our early days. It’s still the same eclectic mix of beaches, local food, tourists... and a dangerously large stray dog population.

Arena was skin and bones, heartworm positive, and physically incapable of carrying her litter. On Thursday, she underwent surgery to safely remove 11 unborn puppies to save her life. Tomorrow, we’ll share an update on how she’s resting in her foster home!

We know hands-on street rescue is what so many of you love about our mission. We are so excited to be back on the island before you know it. Stay tuned! ❤️🐾

An update on Ranger 🐾❤️

Ranger is still looking for a forever home. His recent meet-and-greet was a townhouse with no fenced yard, which just wasn’t the right fit for him, he needs a little more room to run! 🐶🌾

I still wanted to send a massive THANK YOU to this incredible community. Because of your support from our last transport, we’ve had new fosters step up, new adopters apply, and so many lives saved. We truly couldn’t do this work without you!

Arpeggio and Triangle have been through more than most. Rescued from a hoarding situation in Texas and at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space, they’ve been given a second chance. Now safe, they’re ready to leave their past behind and find loving forever homes. While it would be wonderful for them to go together, it’s not necessary, they can be adopted separately. More than anything, each is hoping for a place to finally feel safe, cared for, and truly at home. They’ll be posted on our website soon, so stay tuned.
