Join the University Heights Garden Club for a FREE seminar at the Library on Seed Starting 101. Our featured speaker for this seminar will be Bryce Sims, founder of the National City Seed Library.

Want to learn how to successfully grow your own food and native plants from seeds? Join us for a free hands on workshop at the University Heights Library on Saturday, August 16th at 10:00 AM to learn which seeds need to be pre-soaked first before planting, which require cold weather to sprout, how to maintain moisture during the germination process, how to test viability of seeds, and how to store them properly for long term use.

will be teaching us all the tips and tricks to successfully start plants from seed, saving backyard gardeners hundreds of dollars in plant costs!

Attendees will take home free pots, soil, seeds, and info guides to get them started at home successfully.

It’s National Library Week and what better way to celebrate then to head over to our favorite University Heights Library branch on Park Blvd for some free seeds and books! Did you know? Most of have a free seed library that is stocked with regionally appropriate seeds that can be checked out by any SD residents. Head on over to the library to pick up your free seeds this week!
