Our 2nd Annual Sunflower Festival at The Prissy Chicken is coming up soon, and we are so excited to welcome everyone back to the farm!

We have a wonderful lineup of craft vendors, food vendors, local makers, small businesses, and farm-fresh goodness planned for this year’s event.

Starting tomorrow, we’ll begin showcasing our vendors so you can get a sneak peek at who will be joining us and what you can expect to find while you’re here. Trust us - you’re going to want to follow along! 🛍️🌻

As we begin planning for this year's growing season, we'd love to hear from YOU!

Last year, we planted a HUGE sunflower patch that provided beautiful photo opportunities and plenty of blooms for our U-Pick flower garden. But we're wondering if we should make a few changes this year...

Would you rather see:

🌻 Option 1: Keep the large sunflower patch for photos, wandering through the blooms, and U-Pick flowers?

OR

🎃 Option 2: Plant a smaller sunflower patch and use the extra space to create a U-Pick pumpkin patch where children can pick their own pumpkin right from the vine?

We're also considering adding:

🚜 Hayrides around the farm ($5 per person)
🎯 Hayride Bingo
🎃 Pick-your-own pumpkin experience during our Fall Festival
📸 Fun fall photo opportunities throughout the farm

Many years ago, I offered riding lessons here at Lucky Spur Ranch. Lately, I've been thinking about bringing lessons back and possibly adding horse-related experiences and educational opportunities for people who love horses—or simply want to learn more about them.

Not everyone wants to ride, and that's okay! Horses have so much to teach us beyond what's done in the saddle.

Some ideas I'm considering include:

🌻 Important Summer Event Update 🌻

Due to our late start this growing season and Mother Nature keeping things a bit behind schedule, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Breakfast with the Butterflies event, as well as our July event lineup.

Additionally, with our daughter Christie expecting a new baby in July 🩷, we want to make sure we have plenty of time to spend with her and our newest little blessing during this special season for our family.

We WILL still be hosting:
🌻 Sunflower Festival ~August 15, 2026
🍂 Fall Festival ~September 12, 2026

We are SO excited for these upcoming events and all the fun, memories, shopping, flowers, fall décor, and community fellowship they will bring!

At this time, we are officially accepting applications for:

✨ Food Trucks
✨ Beverage Vendors

With everything happening this summer, PLEASE get your applications submitted as soon as possible so we can begin planning accordingly, gauge interest early, and create the best possible experience for everyone attending.
