Bullock County Humane Society We are a 501c3 Nonprofit Animal Rescue serving as Animal Control for Bullock County, Alabama. Please We look for an ID tag, and we scan it for a microchip.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR RESIDENTS OF BULLOCK COUNTY: If your dog arrives at our animal shelter as a stray and does not have an ID tag, it is your responsibility to contact us. If your dog arrives with neither, we do a standard intake procedure of vaccines and preventives and hold the dog for 10 days. On day 11, that dog legally becomes our property and we are allowed to adopt, transfer or

even euthanize it (although we don't do the latter except in extreme cases). An owner who shows up after the 10 day stray hold and wants their dog back has no legal recourse if the dog has already been transfered or adopted. If you would want your dog back after it gets lost, PLEASE put an ID tag on it and/or have your vet implant a microchip. If a dog has a collar without ID, that only means that at some time, somebody claimed it as their own. We have too many amazing dogs whose owners never come looking or come too late and then get angry because their dog is 1000 miles away. An owner who comes in search of a lost dog (that did not have ID or microchip) must have proof of ownership and pay a fee to reimburse us for expenses before we release the dog. We also ensure the dog has a rabies vaccine per state law before releasing it back to the owner. Please share this with your Bullock County friends.

Spot came to the shelter on 2/19/25 as a stray sadly.
He is darling as can be, submissive, about 1.9 years old, neutered, 40 ish pounds, 1 year rabies vaccination, on flea&heart worm preventative. He loves to run around in the play yard, loves people and loves when volunteers spend time with him 🙌🏼

Today is her 1 year anniversary at the shelter 😣

Our sweet girl loves attention from D'Marcus! Darling girl is still waiting for someone to pick her do likes other dogs!

This sweet shepherd mix is about 1.5 yrs old , 55ish Ibs, on the slim side, 1 yr rabies vaccination, heart worm positive which is treatable, on flea & HW prevention, medium/high energy and appears submissive.
She is very sweet, she was kenneled with Zachary so she appears to be dog friendly ! Her intake date is 6/4/25. We transport
to out of state adopters and rescues.

Ken loves being out of his kennel to run around in the play yard, getting in all the smells! Ken will make a great companion for you & another dog if you have one 🐶

Intake date 1/3/24 and would love to find his forever home soon,we will transport him to you 😁🙏🏼

Ken just wanted love and attention while in the play yard with volunteers Jo Anna & Jan , he is so good w/ppl&dogs. Very sweet hound mix.

Ken would love a forever home. He is young about 3 years old , very affectionate, 50 ish lbs, loves dogs, is heart worm negative 🙏🏼, utd on shots , on flea & HW prevention!

She is one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet ! She reached her 2 year anniversary at the shelter in January, no fault of her own 😖

Ariel is dog friendly ! BLACK DOG. She needs your help by sharing her far and wide. We will transport her to you by plane ✈️ or vehicle 🚗!

Sweet girl Ariel 😍 loves to be petted, gives kisses and is affectionate! She loves her kennel mate who is a male ❤️ She’s a young adult 3ish, around 50 lbs., moderate energy. Ariel is dog friendly , spayed & UTD on shots. DID WE SAY SHE LOVES DOGS !!!

Handsome ladies man Carnelo loved getting treats from volunteers & running around in the play yard!

This very sweet boy came to the shelter on 2/27/25 and has been waiting for his forever home since !

Carnelo is a yellow lab mix, about 2.5 years old, neutered, HW + which is treatable, 1 yr rabies, on flea&tick / heartworm prevention. He is kenneled with Friday so he’s dog friendly. 🥳
We transport to all state except HI & AK. PLEASE SHARE FAR AND WIDE! He is such a good boy & knows sit!

Does anyone have a dog who needs a playmate ? Ace is your girl if so! There are dog friendly dogs then there are dogs who LOVE dogs and Ace is one of them. 🥰

Intake September 2023 !! 😭 We would prefer her to go to a home with other dogs but doesn’t have to, she really loves them.

We will keep sharing you Ace until someone chooses you to go home with them. No reason why she hasnt been adopted yet, we are scratching our heads 🤷🏼‍♀️

LOVES DOGS did we say that yet! Lol Submissive. Super sweet.

She is dog friendly, loves playing in the yard with other dogs. She is also kid and cat friendly.She is spayed, HW - , Utd on shots, on hw & Flea prevention, 4-ish years old !

Pinky, this poor girl has had no interest at all but she is ready for YOU to pick her 🙏🏼 intake date 6/15/23, 😩

Pinky and kennel mate Bullock had a great time in the play yard with the volunteers running around and getting all the smells in. This is a very rural shelter with VERY LITTLE walk through traffic ! Most days there is none 😢so sharing is imperative🙏🏼

Pinky is a young 4ish spunky baby girl waiting for someone to take her home 🏠! She is UTD on shots , medium energy, on flea & HW prevention, HW + (which is treatable) , spayed. 1202 days living at the kennel 😭. It’s so crazy because he loves other dogs and is such a friendly boy. Heart worm negative!

Can you imagine living in a kennel for that long where you don’t get out to run & play daily ? That’s small rural shelter life sadly.

Zachary is such a friendly boy who loves dogs ! He’s about 60-65 pounds, young adult ! He will be a great addition to your home 🏡!

He LOVES DOGS , loves ppl and indifferent to the shelter cats 🐈. His kennel mate is GABBY 🥰 he definitely is a ladies man. Such a hunk!

Zachary was dropped off at night 3 years ago, let’s get this AMAZING boy adopted by sharing far & wide 🙏🏼

Intake 6/23/23, there is someone out there for this sweet baby!

Janessa, though she has her friend Jada, really really wants a family to love. She’s been in a kennel for 2.9 years, and her lab personality for fun and play and love is just bursting to get out and be all she be. She will readily roll over for tummy rubs and attention, She’s an equal opportunity play partner – humans and dogs alike.

Janessa is submissive, loves belly rubs, dog friendly , likes to roll over and play , about 4-5 years old , on flea & HW prevention, spayed . Ready for a loving forever home!
