Bullock County Humane Society We are a 501c3 Nonprofit Animal Rescue serving as Animal Control for Bullock County, Alabama. Please We look for an ID tag, and we scan it for a microchip.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR RESIDENTS OF BULLOCK COUNTY: If your dog arrives at our animal shelter as a stray and does not have an ID tag, it is your responsibility to contact us. If your dog arrives with neither, we do a standard intake procedure of vaccines and preventives and hold the dog for 10 days. On day 11, that dog legally becomes our property and we are allowed to adopt, transfer or

even euthanize it (although we don't do the latter except in extreme cases). An owner who shows up after the 10 day stray hold and wants their dog back has no legal recourse if the dog has already been transfered or adopted. If you would want your dog back after it gets lost, PLEASE put an ID tag on it and/or have your vet implant a microchip. If a dog has a collar without ID, that only means that at some time, somebody claimed it as their own. We have too many amazing dogs whose owners never come looking or come too late and then get angry because their dog is 1000 miles away. An owner who comes in search of a lost dog (that did not have ID or microchip) must have proof of ownership and pay a fee to reimburse us for expenses before we release the dog. We also ensure the dog has a rabies vaccine per state law before releasing it back to the owner. Please share this with your Bullock County friends.

Mickie is the most gentle sweet baby boy who loves dogs! He came to the shelter a few months ago with sisters (Jackie & 1 other who got adopted) he will be neutered , had his 1 year rabies , is on flea & heart worm preventative.

Mickie is not a year old yet , about 25ish pounds , gray & white pittie mix. He loves being in the play yard to run around & visit with other dogs who are in their kennels. Who would like to take this sweet baby boy home ? PLEASE SHARE FAR AND WIDE! We transport ✈️🚙 to out of state adopters & rescues!

This sweet little nugget oh my gosh 🥰 how can’t you love this adorable hippo!

Tuffy came to the shelter on 9/1/25 as a stray. He is about 5 yrs old , heart worm negative, had his 1 year rabies shot, is on flea & HW prevention, neutered! Tuffy is medium energy and appears to be dog friendly and knows sit! Loves treats. Transport available to out of state adopters and rescues! Please share far and wide thank you 💜🙏🏼

Is there anyone who could foster him for a couple weeks? We would love to get him out of the stressful kennel environment
,Raggedy is dealing with kennel stress and we would love to get him into a home or foster please 🙏🏼 ! He is constantly licking his kennel which is a sign of kennel stress 😢

This young sweetheart is so affectionate and would love to be in a loving forever home 😇he is UTD on his shots, neutered, on flea & heart worm prevention 🙌🏼 he appears to be dog friendly !! He is 42 pounds, 3-4 years old. Heart worm negative!

Jackie is a nervous girl (who knows how she was treated before 😫) who is slowly coming out of her shell 🙏🏼

Jackie is a sweet girl who is a little shy at first but warms right up when you show her love. Jackie and her sister & brother came to the shelter 9/2025 (her sister got adopted)! She is kenneled with her brother Mickie. She had a fun time out in the play yard with the volunteers!

She is a young gray & white pit mix , cute , dog friendly, loves to run & play ! About 30 pounds , spayed, has her 1 year rabies shot, on flea & HW prevention. We transport to out of state adopters & rescues ✈️🚘

Smurf is is 22 days shy of 1 year in the shelter, please help now by sharing him 🙌🏼💘

Smurf came to the shelter on 5/25/25 at 8 weeks old, about 35-40 pounds. He is a a petite guy and is cute as a button 🥰 he had a great time in the play yard with volunteers Jan & Jo Anna ! He’s a lover ❤️

He is very friendly, playful,dog friendly and was housed with Kellie(went to rescue) we don’t want this baby to grow up in the shelter and need to get him out while he is still a young boy! PLEASE SHARE SMURF🙏🏼dog friendly!!

💜BECKY G💜 443 days in the shelter no fault of her own, so many dogs need homes 🏡

This very sweet girl who wants to give you all her love is waiting for her forever home ! She has been at the shelter since 2/13/24!!! 😣she loves to run (medium energy) around in the play yard! Takes treats gently.

512 days at the shelter 😣

W***y is a young 2.5 year old boy who is a shepherd mix . He came to the shelter on 12/6/24.

W***y had a great time running around in the play yard , getting in all the smells and getting love &attention from volunteers. W***y is a medium/high energy dog who will need daily exercise. He had a relaxed demeanor around other dogs! He had his 1 year rabies, HW +, neutered, about 45-50 pounds , is on flea and heart worm preventative. We transport to out of state adopters and rescues!

I’m a bouncy , energetic, friendly mix breed boy who will make a great addition to your family ! I was found as a stray over 2.6 years ago summer of 2023. I was adopted & had a home for 6 months but they returned me to the shelter 💔.

I love to run around with other dogs, indifferent to cats, I’m submissive and they say I’m about 5ish years old. I’m UTD on shots, neutered, on flea & HW prevention, HW+ which is treatable . I share a kennel with Pinky !! 🩷

Spot came to the shelter on 2/19/25 as a stray sadly.

He is darling as can be, submissive, about 1.8yrs old, neutered, 40 ish pounds, 1 year rabies vaccination, on flea&heart worm preventative. He loves to run around in the play yard and enjoyed the attention from dog manager Stevie ! 😍

🧡Big Freeda🧡 sweet girl loves belly rubs!

Darling girl is still waiting for someone to pick her 🙏🏼 likes other dogs!

This sweet shepherd mix is about 1.5 yrs old , 55ish lbs, on the slim side , 1 yr rabies vaccination, heart worm positive, on flea & HW prevention, medium/high energy and appears submissive.

She is very sweet , she was kenneled with Zachary so she appears to be dog friendly 🙌🏼! Her intake date is 6/4/25 . We transport to out of state adopters and rescues!
