Seasonal Deer Check-In & Customer Service Assistant

Wild America Taxidermy & Deer Processing is looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated individual to join our team during our busy deer processing season!

📍 Location: Union Grove, NC

📅 Schedule: Monday–Friday, starting at 9:00 AM, with a flexible end time (typically between 1:00 and 4:00 PM). Occasional evening or Saturday availability is a plus.

📆 Start Date: Week of November 2, 2026

💰 Pay: Starting at $15/hour, with higher pay available based on relevant experience and qualifications.

⏳ Duration: November–December, with possible extension into early January.

Job Responsibilities:

* Check in deer and accurately enter customer information and orders into our online system.
* Attach identification tags to harvested deer.
* Look up, update, and finalize customer orders.
* Assist customers with pickups, including locating orders, collecting payments, and distributing packaged meat.
* Help with packaging meat, labeling, cleaning, and organizing supplies as needed.

Qualifications & Expectations:

* Comfortable and proficient using a laptop, iPad/tablet, and iPhone. Training on our specific system will be provided.
* Quick learner with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with customers.
* Able to work independently, multitask, and take initiative.
* Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent Monday–Friday attendance.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

This is a hands-on position, not strictly a desk job. Work takes place primarily outdoors and in a cold meat-processing shop. Applicants must be comfortable working in cold temperatures, being around harvested deer, and performing physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, and moving packaged meat. Heavier loads can be divided or moved with assistance.

Previous customer service, administrative, or meat-processing experience is a plus, but not required.

Additional Details:

* Temporary, seasonal W-2 employment.
* Training begins the week of November 2; hours may vary during the first week.
* Some additional hours may be available based on business needs.

We will be accepting deer tonight, Friday, October 9. Please call or text before coming, and if you have a deer to bring in tonight, we ask that you let us know by 8:00 PM.

Just a reminder that the hours we’ve been posting are our bow season schedule. Once gun season begins, we will return to our normal deer-season hours, including full Saturday coverage.

We are also always closed on Sundays.

We’re gearing up for deer season and looking for the right person to join our team!

Wild America Taxidermy & Deer Processing / Smitty’s Meats is looking for an experienced butcher or meat processor to join our team in Union Grove, NC.

What we’re looking for:
• Hands-on meat cutting and processing experience is required.
• Experience slaughtering, skinning, gutting, and processing deer or livestock is strongly preferred, but we’re willing to train the right person with solid meat-cutting experience.
• Reliable, dependable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details:
• Seasonal position: August through January (opportunity for year-round work for the right person)
• Monday–Friday schedule
• Some Saturdays and overtime required during peak deer season (November–December)
• Pay based on experience
