Royal Animal Refuge Royal Animal Refuge is a 501c3 nonprofit facility for the homeless, neglected, and mistreated animals

Our mission is to promote animal welfare and responsible pet ownership, find homes for unwanted pets, provide humane care for all animals in our care, educate the community about the problems of unwanted, neglected, and abused animals, and help people keep their animals through spay and neuter, vet care and other help as needed. To do this, we work with the community, area shelters, and local rescue groups by developing a network of supporters and volunteers to create a better world for homeless animals. Hello everyone! I'm Lala, though my foster mom affectionately calls me "Tilley," which is short for Matilda. I’m a genuinely sweet little girl who hasn’t had the best start in life. I was found living outside, tied up without any shelter or shade. Thankfully, a kind-hearted person rescued me, and I was brought to the Refuge and my wonderful foster mom.

She has been teaching me how to walk on a leash and helping me feel more comfortable during our outings, although I still get startled by certain noises and people from time to time. I've enjoyed some rides on golf carts and do well in the car. I have a foster fur sister, and we get along wonderfully!

I'm beginning to open up and have discovered that I adore being a lap dog. Although I can be quite shy when meeting new people, I absolutely love belly rubs, which help me feel safe. I’m also very good about going outside in the backyard to take care of my business, and then I happily return to my cozy bed. 💜

La La is a Shih Tzu mix who is looking for her forever home. She is 5 years old, weighs 12 pounds, and is fully vetted. Apply today!

❤️ Help Us Give Empawnada the Care He Deserves ❤️

Meet Empawnada, a sweet senior Chihuahua who needs our help. ❤️ He deserves to spend his golden years feeling comfortable, loved, and cared for, but unfortunately, he has been facing several health challenges, and his medical expenses are quickly adding up.

Empawnada has made multiple trips to the vet and was recently hospitalized. He has undergone multiple X-rays and has been diagnosed with a collapsed trachea and chronic bronchitis. So far, he has needed three rounds of medication, with treatments being adjusted as we work to manage his symptoms.

Empawnada also has severe periodontal disease that needs treatment and will need a dental procedure once he is healthy enough to safely undergo it. In the meantime, he will continue to need veterinary care, follow-up appointments, and medication to help manage his health issues.

Between his vet visits, X-rays, hospitalization, medications, and upcoming treatments, his medical expenses have become significant. We are struggling to make ends meet. Our rescue funds are at an all time low and with mounting medical bills and so many dogs relying on us, we are stretched incredibly thin. We need help now more than ever to ensure Empawnada gets the medical care he desperately needs.

We are asking our wonderful community to come together once again for Empawnada. If you are able to donate, even $1 or $5 can make a difference. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue providing the care he needs. If you're unable to donate, sharing his story is another wonderful way to help.

Senior dogs like Empawnada deserve to spend their golden years with comfort, dignity, and love. He may be small, but he is so deserving of a big second chance. 🐾❤️

Acornelia is still looking for her forever home! She is almost 3 months old and weighs 14 pounds. She is fully vetted for her age. Here is an update from her foster:

"Acornelia is intelligent, affectionate and playful. She absolutely loves going on walks and is very good on the leash. She loves to ride in the car and is quiet in her crate all night. She sits on command and is learning down and stay. She is great with the foster's two cats. She is food motivated and easy to train.

She loves to play and chew on her toys, and likes to nap with her head on your lap.

She is learning the rules of being a well mannered houseguest and would benefit greatly from being adopted soon, to learn the rules and language specific to your home."

She will be a Puppy Saturday this Saturday from 1-5pm at Royal Animal Refuge. Apply today to bring this sweet pup home!

Five cookies. Two hours. One very valid excuse to play with icing while helping dogs. 🍪🐾

We’re teaming up with Sunflour Treats for Icing for the Paws! A beginner friendly cookie decorating class where you’ll learn to create the actual dog inspired cookie set pictured. No decorating résumé required. All supplies are included, Lisa will guide you through everything, and you’ll leave with cookies almost too cute to eat. Almost!!! 🙂‍↕️😮‍💨

The sweetest part? Portions from every ticket directly supports the dogs at Royal Animal Refuge! Because of Lisa’s kindness she’s willing to half of all the proceeds!

We are looking for a foster home for Baby Shark where he can recover in peace and quiet.

Baby Shark is approx. 2 years old and weighs 3 pounds. He is currently sick with an upper respiratory infection and will need to be remain separated from other dogs while he is being treated. Baby Shark can be a little spicy when first meeting new people but once he gets to know you, he wants nothing more than to cuddle.
