Happy Father's Day to the dads who are out here running the show (or at least pretending to). We checked in with the kids today, and they had plenty to say about their old men.

Junior is a brand-new lemur dad, and his pups say he panics at every single squeak. The veteran dads aren't getting a pass either. The cheetah cubs like to remind everyone that, for the "fastest animal on land," dad still can't catch them at bedtime. The zebras say whenever they ask why everyone has to wear the same outfit every day, they get a classic "go ask your mother."

According to his kiddos, colobus monkey dads apparently use their giant white beards to pretend they can't hear anyone when it gets too loud. The kudu dad got completely exposed by his kids for looking serious but jumping at falling leaves. And the penguin dads are just out there staring at their own feet and yelling at rocks for half the day.

Shoutout to all the dads keeping it together today. Y'all rock!

Happy World Giraffe Day and Summer Solstice! Lulu here, and it’s the longest day of the year, which is pretty on-brand for a herd that treats the top shelf as a baseline.

Naturally, the extra daylight has gone straight to our heads. Opal is hogging the fence line to work her angles, Nyela is taking advantage of the extra hour by eating as many leaves as giraffely possible and Abby is just annoyed the sun is interrupting her nap schedule.

Then there's Xena June! It's hard to believe she struggled with her health as a baby because she is currently out here clocking absolute peak speeds. If you see a tall, spotted flash before your eyes, just know that's Xena June getting her zoomies out.

And for everyone asking about adorable little Freddy, he's not quite ready for the social scene of the main savanna yet, but he's building confidence by practicing his best tall-guy poses backstage.

Come celebrate the longest day with the longest necks in Tyler!

Our dads are the strongest, fastest and coolest in the world. Which is great, because they need all of that strength to keep up with us. We know we can be a handful. We know we make too much noise. And we know we never listen the first time you call us. But we think you're doing a pretty great job anyway. Human kids, bring your dad to the zoo this weekend to celebrate Father's Day!

That exact face you make when you finally sit down on the couch and hear, 'Dad, can you get me a snack?' If your pop is currently running on coffee and dad jokes, give him a break from the household zoo and bring him to ours this Father's Day weekend!

It's Texas Horned Lizard Day! These spiky little icons might look tough, but they need Texans' help. That's where we come in! We’ve created a custom breeding center right here at the zoo that gives these horned lizards proper nutrition, protected space and plenty of peace and quiet as they grow. As part of a collaborative breeding and conservation program with Texas Parks and Wildlife, we raise these "h***y toads" and release them on protected land to boost their native populations. Remember, when you visit the zoo, you're helping animals all over the globe.
