Our hearts are absolutely bursting with joy because our beautiful, sweet 8 year old senior boy RICK HAS FOUND HIS FOREVER FAMILY! 🎉

Rick has been on numerous Borrow a Buddy adventures, and every time he returned, we heard the same wonderful things about what an amazing dog he is. Each glowing report made us smile, but it also made us wish a little harder that someone would see what we saw in Rick and give this special boy a family of his very own.

Well, that wish has finally come true! ❤️

The wonderful Braden family has fallen head over heels for Rick, and we certainly can't blame them! This sweet, handsome boy has a way of stealing hearts, and we're over the moon that he's found the people who will love and cherish him through his golden years.

Now, instead of Borrow a Buddy dates, Rick gets something even better...a lifetime of adventures, a family to call his own, and all the love his big heart deserves. 🥹

Congratulations to the Braden family, and an extra-special congratulations to our sweet Rick! Thank you for opening your hearts and home to this wonderful senior boy.

Rick, you've waited for this chapter, and we couldn't be happier to see it begin. Here's to cozy naps, new adventures, endless love, and the beautiful life ahead of you.

For anyone who wonders whether transport can make a difference for animals in the South, we have some pretty amazing news for you! 💜✈️

Butterball Boyd spent months and months at Pets Fur People without people giving him a second look. We knew how amazing he was, but still, no one came for him.

Then our friends at 3 Husketeers Rescue in Pennsylvania took a chance on him, and Wings of Rescue flew him toward a whole new beginning.

Not long after he arrived, a family met Butterball and decided to give fostering a try. Just a few weeks later, we are all jumping for joy… Butterball Boyd is officially being adopted by that very same family! 🎉🐾

And the sweetest part? BB finally has his very own little boy to play with. 💜

Stories like his are why we do what we do. They make the late nights, early mornings, long drives, and all the work behind every transport completely worth it.

Thank you, Wings of Rescue, for flying Butterball where he needed to go. Thank you, Toni Daniels and 3 Husketeers Rescue, for giving him this chance. And to his new family, thank you for seeing the wonderful boy we have loved all along.

Happy forever, Butterball Boyd! You were worth every mile. 🐾💜

💙 An update on Outlaw and Roadie 💙

When we asked for help reaching the owners of these two sweet boys, our amazing followers—the people we consider family—shared their post 402 times! Thank you for helping us try to bring them back together. Your kindness means so much.

Unfortunately, no owner came forward to let us help. We have made the difficult decision to move forward with finding Outlaw and Roadie loving adoptive homes.

We will begin accepting adoption applications tomorrow, Tuesday, October 20. As with all of our animals, our priority is finding the best fit for each boy, whether that means a home together or homes where they can each thrive.

If you’re looking for a new best friend—or two—please consider Outlaw and Roadie. We cannot explain to them why their lives have changed, but we can help make their next chapter full of love.

ANIMAL CLINIC INTERN
Ideal for students interested in veterinary medicine, veterinary technology, animal science, or related fields. Gain hands-on experience assisting with animal medical care, daily clinic operations, post-surgical monitoring, vaccinations, and more alongside our veterinary technician.

ADOPTION & ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN
Perfect for students interested in business, marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or related fields. Gain experience with animal adoptions, customer service, community outreach, administrative operations, and nonprofit management.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN:

Valuable hands-on, real-world experience
Résumé-building skills and professional development
Insight into animal welfare and nonprofit operations
Opportunity to earn college credit (if approved by your institution)
The chance to make a difference in the lives of animals!

We want to give a big shoutout to Walker Heating-Cooling for coming to our rescue and getting our medical building cool and comfortable again!

Thanks to their hard work and quick response, we are back up and running as normal, and most importantly, all of the animals in our care are staying safe, cool, and comfortable! ❤️ 🐶 🐱

Sometimes the best love stories start in the most unexpected places, and Serena’s story is one of those! 🥹

Serena and her sister, Blair, were found in a church parking lot, scared and unsure of what their future would hold. Thankfully, some wonderful church members stepped up to care for these sweet girls until they could find somewhere safe for them to go. That's when they made their way to us! ❤️

From the moment they arrived, we could see just how incredibly sweet and loving these girls were. Even though they were scared, their gentle hearts shined through. It wasn't long before Blair found her forever family, and while Serena was happy for her sister, she knew her own happily ever after was still waiting to be written.

She just needed the perfect family to come along.

And then… enter Addison & Tyrell! ✨

The rest, as they say, is history! It turns out Serena wasn't waiting for just any family. She was waiting for HER family!

Now this precious girl has a brand-new family to love, a home to call her very own, and a lifetime of adventures, belly rubs, and couch cuddles ahead of her!

We couldn't be happier that Serena, Addison, and Tyrell found their way to one another. Some things are simply meant to be, and this is definitely one of them!

Congratulations to Serena and her wonderful new family! 🎉🐾 Here's to a lifetime of happy memories, unconditional love, and all the couch cuddles your hearts can handle!

It seems like we can’t catch a break around here. 💔 Being the oldest rescue in town comes with a lot of history—and lately, a lot of repairs.

Yesterday, one of the two HVAC systems in our medical/intake building shorted out and fried. The unit dates back to 1997, and it is obsolete, so the entire system needs to be replaced. During the inspection, we also learned that the wiring was improper and not up to code.

The replacement is $9,250, plus the cost of having an electrician correct the wiring. This is an unexpected expense, but keeping this building safe and comfortable for the animals in our care is a necessity.

The second HVAC system also has a leak and needs a new condenser. That repair is another $4,000, so unfortunately, it will have to wait.

A HUGE thank-you to Walker Heating and Cooling for coming out so quickly and helping us get a replacement unit at a discounted rate. We are grateful for their help! And thank you to Skip at OGLE Construction, LLC for getting us an electrician out first thing this morning to help!
