We want to give a HUGE thank you and congratulations to Levi Learner of Troop 369!

As part of his journey to becoming an Eagle Scout, Levi needed to complete a service project and we were the lucky recipients! ❤️

Levi saw a real need at our clinic: the two sets of back stairs to our building had become worn from years of weather and use and were in dire need of replacement. Levi took on the challenge, coordinated the project, and saw it through to completion.

Thanks to his hard work and leadership, we now have safe, sturdy new stairs for our employees, volunteers, and, of course, our pups to use when heading outside the back of the clinic. 🐾

We are incredibly thankful that Levi chose us for his Eagle Scout project. His work will make a difference here every single day for years to come.

Congratulations, Levi, on becoming an Eagle Scout! 🦅 What an amazing accomplishment and a job very well done! We are so proud of you and grateful to have been part of your journey.

🐾 SEPTEMBER IS PUPPY MILL AWARENESS MONTH! 🐾

Puppy mills continue to put profit ahead of the health and well-being of dogs, and on Saturday, September 19, we’re joining together to raise awareness and speak up for the animals who cannot speak for themselves.

Back in June, Tippy’s life changed forever. This beautiful senior Australian Shepherd was one of five dogs who came to us after being rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation involving 38 dogs. At 8 years old, Tippy had already been through more than any dog should ever have to endure.

But somehow, through all of it, she still had so much love to give. ❤️

Tippy wasn’t done trusting. She wasn’t done loving. And she certainly wasn’t done living life to the fullest.

Then came the Kilanski family. They met Tippy and knew she was the one. 🏡🐾

And now, this sweet girl gets everything we wanted so badly for her: a family, a home, and all the love she deserves for the rest of her days.

Congratulations, Tippy! 🎉❤️ We couldn’t be happier knowing that your next chapter will be filled with soft beds, happy days, and people who love you endlessly.

But there is still one more dog from this group waiting for his happy ending.

Samson is also 8 years old and has so much love left to give. He survived the same heartbreaking situation, and now he deserves what Tippy found...a family to call his own.

Come meet Samson. Maybe it’s finally his turn to be someone’s “one.” 🐾

She’s got 137,000 miles and would make a GREAT farm truck, ranch truck, hunting truck, or “I just need something to haul stuff around” truck.

A few things you should know:

🔧 Needs a fuel pump — currently won’t crank. But when she does, she purrs like a kitten (or maybe more like a cat in heat)

😎 Missing the dash — turns out, those aren’t nearly as important as Dodge would have you believe.

🍑 Driver’s seat has a spring with boundary issues — we highly recommend a seat cushion, pad, or folded blanket unless you enjoy getting randomly goosed. No judgment.

She’s definitely not fancy, but with a little work, she could still have plenty of useful life left.

August was a month full of happily ever afters! 🐾💙

Through Clear the Shelters, 33 dogs and 23 cats found loving homes! Thank you to every adopter who opened their heart and home to a shelter pet. We couldn’t do this without you. 🏡❤️

Six years.

That’s how long Skip waited for this day. ❤️

Skip came to Pets Fur People in 2020 as a puppy. And while he was deeply loved here... a staff favorite, an absolute sweetheart, and spoiled every chance we got, but a shelter is still not a home.

Days turned into months. Months turned into years. And that little puppy grew into a nearly 80-pound, very tall, very sweet older dog.

Most people came looking for smaller dogs.

But Skip kept waiting.

Then came Craig.

Craig recently said goodbye to his best friend and knew when he was ready, he wanted another big dog. Even better, he specifically wanted to meet one of our long-term residents.

And just like that, Skip’s six-year wait was over.

Skip loved Craig almost instantly, and watching the two of them together, we just knew. ❤️

It’s hard to put into words what this adoption means to us. We watched Skip grow up here. We loved him for six years. We hoped, over and over, that someone would finally see in him what we have always seen.

And someone did.

SKIP HAS BEEN ADOPTED. 🥹❤️

Skip, you were so very loved here, but you were never supposed to be ours forever.

Go home, sweet boy. Take up the whole couch. Follow your dad everywhere. Be spoiled rotten. Be his best friend.

After six years, you finally got your happily ever after.

Congratulations, Skip & Craig. These are the tears we’ve been waiting six years to cry. ❤️🐾🏡

We had a lovely visitor from Bullard High School stop by on Saturday with a special donation for our pups...tennis balls! 🎾

We know our pups are going to have so much fun chasing these around the park once the temperatures cool down.

Thank you so much for thinking of us and the pets in our care. We are incredibly grateful to live in such a thoughtful and generous community where our rescue pets are so well loved and supported. ❤️

Thank you, Bullard High School, for helping bring a little extra joy to our pups! 🐾
