Every year dogs die due to over heating and owners not knowing this information! 40-72 degrees is the happy zone for brachiocephalic dogs. Be vigilant when they are out and monitor them closely when the heat and humidity are high! A quick outing during these times is best!
WATCH YOUR DOGS. Your dog panting can be a sign of anxiety or over heating. A dogs tongue appearing purple is a sign that the dog has over heated. White foam coming out the dogs mouth is a real sign telling you that your dog canβt breathe, the white foam is clogging the dogs air ways making it so that your dog cannot breathe properly. If you wait too long to attempt to save your dog this will be less likely to work, so it's best to have this readily available.
In this order and these steps:
Get the dog to a cool spot, preferably a cool bath. Take the lemon juice and sq**rt it into your dogs mouth to break up the white foam at the back of the dogs throat and open the airway. By opening up the airway you will almost instantly see a difference if the dog is not too far gone already. This can be done as needed to get rid of the white foam. Next you want to coat the dogs belly and underarms and paws with alcohol. This will relieve the heat from the dogs body causing the dog to cool down, if itβs not an anxiety problem. Next get the dog some Pedialyte to rehydrate. Do not force your dog to drink. Then get to your vets office for further examination. 10 dollars and 10 minutes is all you need to save your dogs life.
