Sawyer & Finn, the handsome Adventure Duo had their 6 week vet check up today and microchipping.

Both boys rode in the car so well and arrived at the clinic with nothing but tail wags and wiggle butts. šŸ„¹

I'm so happy to announce they passed their wellness exam with flying colors and were so brave for their microchip - Even though it's a big needle, the poke didn't stop those little tails from wagging and they were still quite eager to give puppy kisses to anyone and everyone afterwards šŸ©µ

We'll be back in 2 weeks for their 1st puppy vaccinations and to start heartworm prevention and then a week or 2 after that, they'll be ready to new adventures with new families.

At this time little Sawyer with the wider white facial blaze is still looking for his perfect family šŸ¾

Finn, who will be Moose, has found his match with the sweetest family in Louisiana šŸ’™

Blenheim Beauties šŸ§” šŸ¤ šŸ§”

Eloise and Cammy balance one another out so well.

Goofy, toy obsessed Cammy is predominately white with a small smattering of rich red markings. We jokingly call her "Flopsy" as she'll flop like a boneless ragdoll anytime you pick her up and expect belly rubs (she even does this on the grooming table making her the easiest dog to trim nails on lol) - Miss Flopsy never meets a stranger and is instantly best friends with anyone willing to rub her belly or throw her ball for her- Cammy was imported to the USA at 6 months old and required zero warm up or acclimation time before she made herself 100% at home (and claimed a hoard of toys, lol).

In contrast, Miss Eloise, my soft natured, deep thinker, is predominantly a deep red with a few white markings scattered about and just a sprinkle of her mother Evie's freckles... She goes by a zillion nicknames including, but not limited to: Eloisey-Lemon-Squeazy, Easy-Peasy-Eloisey, Wheezer, Beezer-Bubs, and Wheezer-Beezers. Wheezie is a mellow, sweet girl who has mastered the art of the "Spaniel Smoosh" and she has the most comically concerned, insanely expressive eyebrows like her daddy Aiden. I've finally got around to submitting the rest of her paperwork this year so now Eloise officially has her OFA CHIC # which was expected, but still exciting šŸ¤šŸ§”šŸ¤

Y'all.... Guess who I got to see today? šŸ„¹

Baby Gator!!

I'm a Veterinary Technician and Gator's momma lives a little over an hour away, but she still brings him to my clinic for check ups so I get to see his sweet little face and I just adore his family for that šŸ©µ

Gator is from Evie x Aiden's "Cajun" litter and was my pint sized little fighter who needed some help early in life - So I was up with him every 2 hours for about 8 consecutive days and he was worth all the lost sleep and tears.

It's so fun seeing my Littles grown and utterly spoiled (and lawd have mercy is this boy SPOILED šŸ˜‚)

Gator has his daddy's extremely expressive eyebrows that look comically worried, and his momma's silky, easy to manage coat.

Happy to report the little man was so brave for his vaccines & had a good check up today... I'm so thankful that his family brings him to see me and loves him BIG šŸ©µšŸ©µ

If Evie's face looks a smidge concerned, it's because the discussion of the morning was her need for a bath and a haircut. šŸ›

Baby-Dawg clearly disagrees with my opinion of her hygiene and scrubbly-bubbly plans..

Once she realized this conversation had absolutely nothing to do with snacks, going to the barn to feed the goats or car rides, she was utterly uninterested in engaging further and plopped her head right back down as if she were asleep šŸ¤£

Labor Day weekend was a bit of a chaotic adventure for us.

Scary, emotional, exhausting and utterly chaotic - But, an Adventure nonetheless..

Detto interpreted "Labor Day" quite literally and started nesting in the wee dark hours of the morning. Because ~of course~ she'd choose a holiday when most businesses are closed.

Early on in the process, something was just a bit "off" though.

Nothing loudly wrong, but just "off".

By nature I am an anxiety riddled human anyways, but when it comes to my kiddos and my critters, I tend to layer on an extra huge heap of paranoia.

So, at the crack of dawn I called my veterinarian and requested to be seen on emergency just in case..

What I envisioned as a "just in case" wellness exam to ease my anxiety quickly morphed into prepping for an emergency c-section. šŸ«Ŗ

On radiograph the puppies looked normal - But during the ultrasound the puppies' heart rates were low enough to be quite concerning and dangerous. The clock was ticking and not in our favor.

Once on the operating table we found another layer of worrisome in the form of a small uterine tear and in that moment I had never been more thankful for that gut feeling that always steers me right!

Intuition for the win! šŸ’œ

Thankfully I have the bestest veterinary team anyone could ever ask for and the uterine tear was resected, repaired and then 2 healthy Tri-Color boys were safely delivered into the world.

It has been a long few days riding the emotional rollercoaster of tears, no sleep and fretting - But today I feel very fortunate.

Momma is being absolutely amazing - The Littles have rapidly gained an astonishing amount of weight, and despite the adventure starting out quite terrifying, it has ended on a happy note.

In honor of trusted intuition & adventures survived, I'd like for y'all to meet Sawyer and Finn šŸ©µ

Miss Odette is in the final stretch of her pregnancy.

These days we're getting up 3 times a night for p*e breaks (she wakes me up by flopping dramatically across my face šŸ¤£), having multiple small meals throughout the day and absolutely insisting on being no further than 2ft away from us at any given moment šŸ„¹

We had our check up with her veterinarian and puppy count radiograph this week and it looks like we're expecting 2 Littles within the next week or so šŸ©µ

Here's Odette in snoozing the day away in her little bassinet that is currently by the computer desk - Princess Odette declared that the dog bed *under* the desk was NOT close enough to her people - So, if we want to get any amount of work done on the computer, she requires her bassinet to be right next to the chair šŸ¤£šŸ¤£ Such a delightfully spoiled little diva

Since the weather in east Texas can be quite temperamental, I've always worked very hard to ensure the Cavaliers are well acclimated to diverse conditions.

Part of this involves everyone learning very early on that we potty outside **even in the rain**, and that rain and thunder aren't scary, they are simply part of life and nothing to fret about.

Sometimes, having to go potty in the rain isn't fun for any of us (I always go out with them) - And other times, gentle summer rains are actually a lot of fun and we wish they'd never end.

Here you can see everyone playing fetch in the rain and being completely unbothered by it.

About a month ago, we were playing in the rain and we spent as much time outside as possible soaking up nice weather days in whatever capacity they arrived - If it wasn't miserably hot, or dangerous storms, we were out there!

Today we're sitting at 105Ā°F ("real feel" of 115Ā°F šŸ„µ) & my county is now in a burn ban as we're terribly dry now.

With the blistering temperatures, we've had to move our prolonged outdoor playtimes to before 6:00am and after 7:30pm.

We are all eagerly awaiting Fall šŸ‚šŸ - Not only for better weather and more comfy outdoor time - But Fall here also officially means PUPPIES are on the way! šŸ¾

If everything goes as planned, we should have a September litter and possibly 2 October litters and we cannot wait šŸ’œ
