And here we have a trio of "Blenheim Berry Burglars"

It's spring in East Texas which means it's wild dewberry season!

These prickly vines of sweet berries grow wild in various places all over the property and I've mentally mapped out the most prolific and easiest to reach vines so I can check them daily and pick the berries as they ripen.

Initially on my daily rounds, I'd get several ripe handfuls each visit from just a few vines....

And then I noticed slowly that vines I'd expect to have more ripe berries suddenly had far less than noted on the previous day.

I blamed birds at first ...

And then I started noticing some random reddish-purplish hued stains on a few of the Cavaliers.

Then those stains were more pronounced and quite heavy around their little chompers πŸ€”

And that's when I really started paying attention to the doggos when we were out walking the property.

Much to my surprise, the Cavaliers are apparently excellent mimics and have learned to harvest dewberries, and like me, they have a fondness for the berries when they are the most ripe and sweet.

Not that I blame them - They ARE yummy - I just honestly hadn't planned on sharing my seasonal wild harvest with a hoard of thieving Floofs πŸ˜‚

Sweet Coraline --Though we tend to call her "Cora-Cora-Parkour" as she's usually bouncing off of and on everyone and everything with an endearing bit of exuberance πŸ˜‚

This is my keeper baby from Cammy and she is a paternal half sibling to my darling Evelyn which was a fun outcross as Evie's sire has a uniquely low genetic COI% via Embark 🧬

Much to my exasperation, the grown doggos have not only taught Cora how to go grazing greenery with the dairy goats, but they've also shown her how delightfully fun it is to dig holes in the dirt 🫩

So, here's Miss Cora, lounging smugly in her freshly dug hole enjoying the lovely east Texas spring weather πŸ™ƒπŸ«

Keeper baby Osha πŸ’œ

Don't let that sweet face of hers fool you...

While she IS an absolute sweetheart, this clever girl pairs that pretty face with a hefty dose of mischief and mayhem.

I've got a strong suspicion that Osha will aspire to be a complete 'menace muppet' like her diva momma Odette 🀭

Soaking up as much of this beautiful spring weather as possible ...

Bittersweet afternoon as this is Charlotte's last day here before she heads off to big new adventures πŸ₯Ή

My puppies typically have their staple kibble but once a day we do something interesting on their licky mats - I like to expose them to a variety of protein sources and add in fresh goodies - This licky mat is a mix of Royal Canin Puppy + some Ollie Pork & Apples and Turkey & Blueberries....

I'm blessed with dogs with iron guts and no food sensitivities or allergies and I truly feel that early exposure to a variety of foods and allergens helps set the stage for a more hearty dog later in life.

Springtime puppies are likely my most messy babies. ☘️🌷🌿

They routinely have muddy paws, messy hair, bits of brambles in their ear floof and utterly filthy faces from rooting around in the dirt like little piggies...

But they are also some of my favorite babies because we get to enjoy so many peaceful hours outdoors with the beautiful weather and soft grass naps to a charming backdrop of birds chirping away.

I know it won't be long now before the sweltering Texas summer comes charging in on us, so I'm soaking up as much of this as I possibly can 🩡

Here's Cammy's Blenheim Trio: Charlotte, Celia and Otis... And a brief blip of keeper baby Osha (who is a delightful menace) at the beginning 😁

Picture this y'all...

Bright and early Easter Sunday morning..

We've had a few days of rain so everything is crisp, green, fresh and feels brand new 🌱

I'm outside in my robe and slippers, cuppa caffeinated goodness in hand, still half asleep, looking forward to a slow, quiet day.

The Cavaliers are running around doing their morning yard patrol.

The 7 week old pint sized Littles are getting their first experience of dew soaked grass while they chase after the older dogs which was a bit comical as they have never had wet feet before and were a bit bewildered 😊

The weather is beautiful, birds are chirping, a light breeze is blowing and the sun coming up behind the trees is the definition of peaceful bliss.

Beyond the backyard fence, I can see the goats coming out of the barn doing their morning stretches and heading out to the pasture...

Whilst watching the goats meander on, I see a wild rabbit dash across the pasture rather frantically... Then another little cottontail.... Followed by a lightning fast pint-sized white blur... Quite out of place since the wild cottontail rabbits don't come in that shade ..

In my un-caffeinated, sleepy haze it took my brain a second to register what I just saw way out in the distance....

Then I frantically did a Cavalier head count - 3 itty bitty Blenheims (Cammy's babies) 3 bigger Blenheims....

And..... Only 2 Tri-Colors..

Which meant that blur, not contained to the safety of my backyard was AIKO 😠

Aiko apparently decided that the best way to celebrate Easter Sunday was by digging a tunnel under the fence in the backyard, climbing through the panels into the goat pasture and then sprinting like a maniac chasing wild rabbits out in the pasture πŸ‡

Beyond the goat pasture is not enclosed and leads to the road so I've shifted from "peaceful sleepy" into a terrified sprint through the yard, through the house and out to the pasture and by the time I get there, Aiko is nowhere in sight...

Aiko's intense bunny chasing focus looped her around the property so she made it to the front by the time I made it to the back..... So I'm searching the pasture and treeline for her when I just barely catch a flash of white in the treeline at the *front* of the property - Which is near the road..

Thankfully the bunny opted for the woods rather than the road and Aiko was intercepted before any catastrophes could happen..

By the time I get her, she's soaked from running through dewy grass and rain puddles, she has brambles in her hair, I've lost a slipper as I clearly wasn't dressed for frantic panic sprints and I imagine my blood pressure was through the roof ..

I praised Aiko for stopping her chase and coming to me, and then sweetly told her she was the worst dog on the planet, she almost gave me a heart attack and she's an absolute psycho.

To which she happily wagged her tail as if we just had the most fabulous adventure evvvvva. 🫩🫩🫩

I get Aiko dry and cleaned up, then go spend the rest of the lovely morning filling in her tunnel.

When I finally get back to my caffeinated beverage, the peaceful morning I had planned is gone and what is Aiko doing??

This.

This is what Aiko is doing.

Sleeping soundly with her Yak Cheese chew as if she didn't turn my entire "peaceful morning" into utter frantic chaos, complete with a spontaneous cardio workout and a side of yardwork that I had absolutely NO plans to do today πŸ«©πŸ™„

She's lucky she's so dang cute..

Rotten dog πŸ₯΄

Happy Easter y'all 🐰 πŸ’πŸ£

Springtime in east Texas is quite blissful 😊

Sunshine, comfy temps, a delightful breeze, birds chirping, a good book and a pile of darling Cavaliers napping in the cool, soft grass...

I genuinely could not ask for anything more peaceful πŸ¦‹πŸŒ±πŸ

Here's 2 of Cammy's 6 week old kiddos zonked out after spending a couple hours exploring the yard, rifling through the bushes and digging in the dirt with the big dogs.

We've been taking advantage of this beautiful weather to take the 3 babies on outdoor adventures as often as possible - Not only does it expose them to all sorts of textures, smells and sights...it's also been an excellent opportunity to work on outdoor potty training practice 😊

In all the chaos I absolutely forgot to introduce y'all to my keeper baby from Odette & Aiden's "Tree Themed" litter! 🌳

Previously she was "Willow", and oddly, not the baby I was initially drawn to in the very beginning - I'm happy I opted to be patient and wait before making my keeper choice as this girl fits me and my personality absolutely perfectly....

It was such a difficult decision as all the girls had so many great attributes - And when I had them evaluated by a retired AKC judge and long time Cavalier enthusiast, I got such great feedback on all of them that I really struggled to narrow it down.... But, I also had to be reasonable and choose *only* one 🫠

Anywho.... Without further ado, please meet my darling "Osha" πŸ’œ

I like to follow letter themes in my dam lines so keeper babies usually have the same 1st letter as their momma's.

Like her mother Odette, little Osha is an absolute sassy spitfire of a baby.. . And since she likes to be a ball of chaos when she comes to work with me, her official registered name is:

"Kalon's Osha Compliance is Optional" 😁 Call name: "Osha"

This is a bit of a late introduction, but I'd like y'all to meet Cammy's little ones.

They are 4 weeks old now, toddling about and they figured out the litter box routine within just a few days.

We have 2 Blenheim Girls and 1 Blenheim Boy and this pairing was a fun one as they are paternal half siblings to Evie, my retired queen bee of the house πŸ©·πŸ’œπŸ©΅

No availability at this time as I'm simply watching them grow and trying to decide if one of the girls will be staying with me or not ...

I retained a lovely, sassy, ornery little Blenheim girl from Odette's December litter so the big question is - "Do I want to juggle puppy training classes for TWO puppies in the same year, or do I want to simply stick to one keeper for 2026 ??" πŸ€”

And..... I've decided a break is long overdue around here with the chaos of all my October - December Littles in 2025 so we're currently skipping all spring/summer heat cycles so I have the scheduling freedom to go to puppy classes with my keeper baby and just rest a smidge.

I'm looking at pairing options for Fall 2026 and might be introducing a fun new Imported boy this summer if all goes well so I'll keep y'all posted on future puppy plans 😊😊😊

Oh Gus-Gus 🩡

Previously Yahtzee from Evie's "All Fun & Games" litter - This handsome boy could pick up a side gig in modeling as he's one of the most photogenic little pups πŸ“Έ

Gus-Gus received high praise from his new momma about how quickly he's mastered potty training and I got some really cute videos of him conquering puzzle toys with ease - Proving he's brains and beauty all in one 😁
