Benefits of Equine Energy Work

Energy work is a gentle, non-invasive approach that can support relaxation, nervous system regulation, and overall energetic balance in horses.

Deep Relaxation
Energy work can encourage a horse to shift into a more relaxed state, helping to reduce signs of stress and tension. Horses may demonstrate this through a lowered head and neck, softened eyes, slower breathing, licking and chewing, yawning, sighing, or other visible signs of release.

Supports the Body’s Natural Processes
By creating a calm environment and encouraging relaxation, energy work may support the horse’s natural ability to regulate, restore, and maintain balance. It can be incorporated alongside appropriate veterinary care, rehabilitation, training, and other wellness practices.

Gentle & Non-Invasive
Sessions do not involve forced movement, massage, stretching, or joint manipulation. This makes energy work an appropriate complementary practice for horses who are sensitive, nervous, reactive, or simply benefit from a quieter approach.

Observation Is Key
Every horse responds differently. Sessions are guided by careful observation of the horse’s body language, behavior, breathing, and willingness to participate. The goal is not to force a response, but to provide a supportive environment in which the horse can relax and communicate what they are experiencing.

For the love of the horse

The training.
The groundwork.
The Liberty.
The communication.
The boundaries.
The softness.
The moments of pressure and release.

None of it is about making the horse do something.

It’s about learning to listen, learning to communicate more clearly, and creating a relationship where the horse feels understood, respected, and safe enough to truly express himself.

Because underneath everything I teach is the same intention:

For the love of the horse 🫶🏼

Working simple connection circles from a sending position isn’t about making the horse circle perfectly. It’s about energy, intention, pressure, release—and what happens when I soften.

Today’s Lesson:
One of my favorite parts of horsemanship is building the kind of trust and partnership that allows you and your horse to confidently explore new experiences together.

With the hot summer weather, we’ve been spending more time outside of the arena using nature as our classroom.

We’re learning to navigate hills and inclines, step over natural obstacles, ride confidently through open spaces, and develop the balance, confidence, and communication that carries over into every aspect of riding.

These moments aren’t just about creating a more capable horse—they’re about creating a deeper relationship. Every new experience is another opportunity to build trust, connection, and confidence together. 🤍🐴
