Sweet encounter this morning. Maple was so careful approaching the fawn. Had it not been for her, I may have missed it altogether.

Can you help?

VERY URGENT PLEA!! 🚨 We were contacted just now by a local veterinary clinic desperately trying to help this poor stray cat who was found in the ditch presumably hit by a car, without a rescue commitment his fate unknown. 😞 He has a fractured pelvis but should recover fine with time and support from foster family. He's a young orange tabby, who has been very sweet given the circumstances and pain he is in. We hope to releive him of his pain & support him through his recovery!

Two things we need to welcome him;

1• donations to cover his emergency care / surgery and continued care.
2• He needs a foster family willing to welcome him and keep him seperate from other pets/ cats for around a month while he recovers.
3 • Love, please send love his way!

This is an urgent situatio and were hoping to pull off the impossible for him. If you can foster him, please submit an application on our website!

Lake Superior beach time w Maple this morning.

Maple is one of my regular dog walking clients in Two Harbors. We met shortly after I moved here and after walking her every other week for over a year, plus numerous adventures together, we’ve grown attached. She is incredible, as is her owner. Needless to say, it’s going to be an adjustment not having her in my life once I return to Hudson.

Today we walked the break wall shortly after sunrise. We met numerous other pups and a few friendly folks too. One family was impressed with her ability to “high five” them! She also managed to get in a few back scratching wiggle and rolls!

Does your pup do that? Maple will squeeze one in whenever she feels the need whether she ends up sliding down a snowbank or wiggling unto the sidewalk, she doesn’t seem to mind. I don’t remember the first two Goldens I cared for years ago, Copper and Tanner, doing this but Lutty whom I cared for in Lutsen did on occasion. Is it a Golden thing or do other dogs do this too?
